For a limited time, British Airways is giving its Executive Club members the opportunity to purchase 1x to 3x of the Avios they earned in 2023 at a discounted rate.

This is great timing for anyone who needs to buy some Avios for award tickets in 2024.

The offer will be live until 7 p.m. EST on Saturday, January 13 — here are the details about the Britiah Airways Avios boost promotion.

British Airways New Balance Booster Promotion

In June 2023, British Airways introduced Balance Booster, a new way of purchasing bonus Avios. This offer is exclusive to Executive Club members, and you can buy double, triple, or quadruple the Avios earned in the previous 30 days.

Now, there’s a new offer to use Balance Booster to purchase every single unboosted Avios earned in 2023 — but is it worth it?

In 2023, I earned a total of 74,967 Avios via the British Airways shopping portal, as well as spend on my British Airways credit card, certain hotels and partner travel, and of course, flying.

Then, I have the choice of buying those same 74,947 Avios for £719.69 (~$920), 149,934 Avios for £1,409.38 (~$1,800), or 224,901 Avios for £2,069 (~$2,638).

Taking a quick look at the math, that results in a value of roughly 1.2 cents per Avios.

Our current points and miles valuations put Avios at 1.25 cents, which means this promotion is offering the purchase rate at marginally less than what their estimated worth.

You can also opt to double, triple, or quadruple a smaller amount of Avios you earned in 2023 by selecting only certain categories, for example, only the Avios you earned on flying. So, if you’ve got your eye on business or first class redemption but haven’t quite got enough in your account, this offer is a great value way of topping up your stash.

Final Thoughts
