Buy Leaders Club Points — Details

Leaders Club is the rewards program for Leading Hotels of the World. As its name implies, the 400+ member hotels are top-notch properties in desirable locations around the world, ranging from beach-front getaways in Santa Monica to bustling New York City and idyllic Maldives tranquility.

Through June 12, 2026, you can purchase points with up to a 100% bonus. At best, you’ll pay 6 cents per point with the bonus. Yes, that’s considerably higher than the price to purchase most hotel points.

This is a tiered offer, offering a greater bonus for purchasing more points. Purchase rates look like this:

  • Buy 1,000 points without a bonus.
  • Buy 2,000 to 11,000 points with a 50% bonus.
  • Buy 12,000 to 29,000 points with a 75% bonus.
  • Buy 30,000 to 75,000 points with a 100% bonus (6 cents apiece)
  • Direct link to purchase

If you purchase the maximum number of points, you’ll get 75,000 points plus a bonus of 75,000 additional points. Those 150,000 points will cost $9,000, bringing your purchase price to 6 cents per point.

Here are the key terms you should know:

  • You must buy in increments of 1,000 points.
  • Buy at least 2,000 points to receive any bonus (50%).
  • The maximum purchase is 75,000 points before the bonus.
  • Allow up to 10 days for bonus points to be posted to your account.
  • Purchased points do not count toward status qualification.
  • You can purchase points for yourself or as a gift to another Leaders Club member.
  • Purchases must be completed by June 12, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. ET to receive the bonus.

Is It Worth It?

For many people, $9,000 is a lot to shell out. Is it worth it? Let’s look at what you could do with these points.

Emerald Faarufushi Resort & Spa in the Maldives is available in September 2026 for 11,042 points per night. Conversely, you could pay $1,161 per night. However, you could buy the required points (at 6 cents each) for $663 per night, saving $498 per night.

Closer to home, The Setai, Miami Beach is available on a weekend in October 2026 for 15,000 points per night or $1,231 in cash. However, at 6 cents apiece, you could buy the required points for $900 per night — a savings of $331 nightly.

That said, the prices are still expensive, and you should ensure points redemptions are available at your preferred hotel on your preferred dates before pulling out your wallet.

You also may not need to purchase points at all. You can transfer Citi ThankYou Points to Leaders Club at a 5:1 ratio, so 1,000 Citi ThankYou Points become 200 Leaders Club points normally. Until May 16, 2026, though, there’s a 25% transfer bonus from Citi to Leaders Club. To book the Emerald Faarufushi Resort, you would need to transfer 45,000 Citi ThankYou Points to book 1 night.

Hot Tip:

Final Thoughts

You can currently buy Leaders Club points with up to a 100% bonus. Buying points in the rewards program of Leading Hotels of the World doesn’t come cheap, but purchasing the required points for a stay might help you save money, rather than paying cash for the hotel.

If you decide to buy points, know that the sale is processed by Points.com, meaning you won’t get credit for a hotel or travel purchase on your credit card. In that case, use your best credit card for everyday spending.

And make sure to make your purchase before the deadline on June 12, 2026.
