The Capital One Lounge network is about to get bigger. On January 8, Capital One announced the signing of a new space in Charlotte, North Carolina, adding its first lounge location in the region.

Much remains unknown about this future Capital One Lounge offering, but the location makes sense: It follows the recent opening of Capital One offices in Charlotte. And we also know this lounge is bigger than any existing Capital One Lounges.

Let’s look at what we know so far.

Capital One Lounge To Open in Charlotte

The Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) will get a new Capital One Lounge. When? That remains to be seen.

Capital One announced the signing of this location on January 8, 2026, and it will be in the Concourse A expansion at CLT on the mezzanine.

This lounge will cover approximately 14,000 square feet, making it the biggest lounge in Capital One’s network.

A spokesperson for Capital One says the CLT lounge will “bring an elevated, regionally inspired travel experience,” including “regional approach to dining and design, with expansive tarmac views, locally inspired menus, a full-service coffee bar, and dedicated workspaces that create a warm, light-filled environment for travelers.”

Specifics on these amenities are unknown, but we can assume the lounge will offer food and drinks, planespotting opportunities, and dedicated work areas. Given its large size, there should be other amenities added to the list, as well.

Capital One opened an office in Charlotte on October 20, 2025, and the area now has a growing presence in both banking and business. It will also have a lounge in the area, once this location opens.

Remember that changes are coming to Capital One Lounge access on Capital One’s premium credit cards. These changes go into effect on February 1, 2026.

What We Don’t Know Yet

While we have some hints about the lounge and its location, there are a few things we won’t know for a while. For example, we don’t know the opening date, and that could 18 months to 2 years away. A late 2027 opening seems probable for the CLT lounge.

We also don’t know what the operating hours will be, details on the amenities, or what will change with Capital One Lounges in general between now and the day the doors finally open at the Charlotte lounge.

Final Thoughts

Capital One is the first issuer to announce expansions to its lounge presence this year, signing a lounge in Charlotte that will open at some point in the future. We have some hints at what the lounge will offer, but we can expect the list of amenities to grow over time. After all, when you open your biggest airport lounge, you can fit in a lot of creature comforts for travelers to enjoy.
