Capital One has launched new welcome offers on these small-business credit cards today, July 14. While the spending requirements aren’t attainable for every small business, the bonuses are enticing for those who can.

Capital One Spark Welcome Offers

New applicants for the Capital One Spark Cash card can earn a $1,000 cash bonus and a $250 travel credit after spending $10,000 on their card in the first 3 months from account opening.

Meanwhile, applicants for the Capital One Spark Cash Plus card can earn a $2,000 cash bonus and a $500 travel credit after spending at least $30,000 on purchases in the first 3 months. These cardholders also earn another $2,000 bonus for every $500,000 spent on the card in the first year.

The travel credit on either card is valid in the Capital One Business Travel portal.

Earning $1,000 from $10,000 in spending amounts to a 10% return on spending. Meanwhile, earning $2,000 from $30,000 in spending is a 6.67% return. If you can meet the minimum spending requirement, these offers provide a great return on your spending.

Key Features of These Cards

Both the Capital One Spark Cash card and the Capital One Spark Cash Plus card offer unlimited 2% cash-back on spending, as well as 5% cash-back on hotels and rental cars booked through Capital One Business Travel.

The Capital One Spark Cash card has a very modest annual fee, with a $0 introductory annual fee in the first year and $95 annually after that. The Capital One Spark Cash Plus card, meanwhile, has a $150 annual fee.

Cash-back from the cards can be redeemed in any amount you choose and doesn’t expire. Moreover, if you have a card that earns Capital One miles, you can combine your cash-back with that account to redeem Capital One miles — providing additional redemption options from your earnings.

Should You Apply for a Capital One Spark Small-Business Card Now?

If you’ve had your eye on either card and were already thinking about applying, then you should definitely apply while an elevated offer is available. Just make sure you can achieve the minimum spending requirement during the first 3 months to receive the full welcome bonus.

However, if your small business has only modest spending capabilities, applying for these cards won’t make sense if you can’t unlock the large welcome offers due to the spending requirements.
