Chase Rolls Out 25K Point Upgrade Offers From Sapphire Preferred to Reserve

If you’re currently holding the Chase Sapphire Preferred^® Card, you may want to check your email — Chase has begun rolling out targeted upgrade offers to the premium Chase Sapphire Reserve^®.

These upgrade offers are highly targeted, so they won’t show up for everyone. If you do receive one, it can be an easy way to unlock stronger travel perks and higher earning potential without submitting a new application.

Targeted Upgrade Offers to the Chase Sapphire Reserve Card

A few months ago, Chase signaled that Chase Sapphire Preferred card holders would begin seeing targeted upgrade offers to the Chase Sapphire Reserve card. Now, we’re finally seeing what those offers look like — and they’re pretty straightforward.

One offer we saw invited the cardholder to upgrade to the Chase Sapphire Reserve card by January 31, 2026, and spend $3,000 by February 14, 2026. With this offer, you’ll not only get Chase’s most premium card but also earn 25,000 bonus points once you meet the minimum spend requirement.

That’s just one example.

If you’ve been eyeing perks like the $300 annual travel credit, Priority Pass airport lounge access, or earning 4x points on flights and hotels booked directly or 3x points on dining, this upgrade offer lets you transition from the Chase Sapphire Preferred to the Chase Sapphire Reserve card without requiring a new application or a hard credit pull.

Just remember, this is a product change. In other words, you can earn the 25,000-point upgrade offer, but you won’t be eligible to earn the welcome bonus offer on the Chase Sapphire Reserve card for a new account.
