There’s a new airline coming to Baltimore (BWI) this summer.
Copa Airlines — the national carrier of Panama — will inaugurate 4x weekly service between Panama City (PTY) and Baltimore on June 28, 2023.

Copa’s Newest U.S. Route
Baltimore will become the 14th U.S. city served by Copa Airlines. The new service will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays, beginning June 28, 2023:
Panama is an exciting new destination for Baltimore — and what’s more, Copa Airlines has an extensive route network across Latin America and the Caribbean, which will facilitate easy connections to dozens of far-flung destinations.
“With this new route, we continue working toward our objective, increasing connectivity in the countries in which we operate and connecting travelers with all of the Americas while contributing to the tourism and economic development of the Baltimore area,” said Dennis Cary Sr., vice president and chief commercial officer at Copa Airlines.
Copa operates a fleet made up entirely of 3 variations of the Boeing 737: the Boeing 737-700, Boeing 737-800, and Boeing 737 MAX 9. The carrier plans on using it Boeing 737-800 to operate the route between Baltimore and Panama.
Each of Copa’s aircraft has business and economy class seating in a 2-2 and 3-3 configuration, respectively.
