IHG’s new-build hotel will break ground in 2024 with a planned opening date of sometime in 2026. When it opens, the property plans to welcome business and leisure travelers alike.

Here’s what you can look forward to at the all-new Crowne Plaza Mexico City Insurgentes, marking IHG’s 8th property in Mexico!

A Hotel on Mexico City’s Longest Avenue

IHG Hotels & Resorts’ latest development in Mexico City will be located on CDMX’s Avenida de los Insurgentes — sometimes referred to as Insurgentes — which is the longest avenue in the city. At almost 18 miles long, the avenue is home to landmarks, including Monumento a La Raza and World Trade Center Mexico City.

The hotel itself will be near many local and regional corporate offices with locations in Mexico City making it ideally located for business travelers.

“Today’s travelers expect the flexibility to easily transition their stay between business and leisure,” said Paul Adan, Regional SVP, Development – Latin America and the Caribbean for IHG Hotels & Resorts. “We’ve elevated the Crowne Plaza design to provide the space and services for guests and locals seeking a modern environment to engage and recharge. Our new location along the highly visible and well-traveled Avenida de los Insurgentes is a perfect fit for Crowne Plaza, and we look forward to reintroducing this premium brand to Mexico City.”

Crowne Plaza Mexico City Insurgentes will feature 230 rooms that are designed to allow guests to both work and relax. The hotel plans to have a Plaza Workspace, the brand’s signature soundproof pods where you can work in peace and have food and service as needed. These will be available to both guests and the general public.

Amenities will include a rooftop bar and not-yet-named restaurant that the brand promises will fit nicely with the hotel’s location.

How to Book

It will be a while before you can book a night at Crowne Plaza Mexico City Insurgentes, as the hotel doesn’t plan to open until 2026. However, as an IHG Hotels & Resorts property, you’ll eventually be able to book the hotel with IHG One Rewards or cash.
