Move over Nassau, the Acabos Islands are back on Delta’s route map.
On Monday, June 2, 2022, Delta resumed its nonstop service between its base in Atlanta (ATL) to Marsh Harbour Airport (MHH) on Grand Abaco, one of the principal islands in the chain.
Here are details of Delta’s newest Caribbean destination.
Delta Resumes Nonstop Service to the Abacos
The return of nonstop service to Marsh Harbour means Delta now serves 4 destinations in the Bahamas — the others are Great Exuma (GGT), Nassau (NAS), and North Eleuthera (ELH).
Delta’s nonstop flights to the third-largest city in the Bahamas will operate year-round. From June through August, there’ll be 1 flight per day on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays, with the following schedule:
Most of the demand for travel into the Bahamas centers around Nassau. Marsh Harbour is relatively off the beaten path, which is likely why Delta is serving this route with smaller regional aircraft like the Bombardier CRJ700 and CRJ900 rather than something like a Boeing 737 which it flies to the Bahamian capital.
The lowest fares we could find for trips this summer start at $428 round-trip in basic economy. Of course, you can redeem Delta SkyMiles for tickets, but the airline doesn’t maintain an award chart which means rates can fluctuate significantly.
Delta’s Caribbean Presence
Considering Atlanta’s location in the Southeastern United States, it’s no surprise the airline serves a total of 19 destinations across the Caribbean from its largest hub. You can reach places like Grand Cayman (GCM), St. Lucia (UVF), and everywhere in between from Atlanta.
Behind Atlanta in terms of Caribbean destinations served is New York (JFK), which boasts nonstop service to 10 Caribbean islands.
Final Thoughts
Delta’s nonstop service between Atlanta and Marsh Harbour in the Abacos Islands has officially returned. With an exciting summer of seemingly endless travel possibilities upon us, now’s a great time to try someplace new.
