If you fly Delta Air Lines, chances are, you’ll end up in the Atlanta airport sooner or later — it’s a Delta hub and the world’s busiest airport.

Today, there’s great news for Delta passengers: The airline will be opening its eighth Sky Club location at Atlanta Hartsfield-Jaskson International Airport (ATL) tomorrow, Tuesday, April 8, 2025. We were there today at a special media preview to get a first look at the new space.

It’s a stunning lounge with over 500 seats, airfield views, a large bar, and quiet work spaces. You’ll notice the sophisticated Southern charm from the moment you walk in. The walls are covered in unique artwork, and there are spaces designed for all types of travelers.

Let’s take a first look at the new Delta Sky Club in Atlanta.

Where Is the New Delta Sky Club at ATL?

The new, 24,000-square-foot Delta Sky Club is in Concourse D-Center Point near the food court at Hartsfield-Jaskson Atlanta International Airport (ATL). The closest gates are gate D18 and D21.

It opens on April 8, 2025 at 6 a.m. and is the first entirely new Sky Club at ATL since 2016. It’s the eighth Sky Club at the Atlanta airport (the other Sky Club in Concourse D will close at the end of the day on April 7, 2025).

This lounge opening is part of Delta’s continuing effort to improve the passenger experience at the Atlanta airport and happens to coincide with the airline’s centennial. Concourse D itself is being enlarged to accommodate increased numbers of passengers and larger aircraft (the renovations are about halfway complete), and Sky Clubs in concourses A and C will be refreshed by the end of 2025.

Bottom Line:

Delta’s brand-new Sky Club at the Atlanta Airport (ATL) is opening on April 8, 2025. It’s in Concourse D near the food court right as you exit the Plane Train escalator. The closest gates are gate D18 and D21.

What To Expect at Atlanta’s New Delta Sky Club

Atlanta’s new Delta Sky Club in Concourse D is the airport’s second-largest Sky Club by size and largest by passenger capacity, with 506 seats. It’s a bright and beautiful space, with abundant natural light and colorful artwork throughout.

I sat down with Tim Genovese, director of Delta Sky Club Operations, to ask about what guests can expect at this new Delta Sky Club.

“We’ve designed it after the city, with Southern charm,” he told me. “Atlanta is very sophisticated, as well, and you’ll see those elements throughout the lounge.”

Design

The new Delta Sky Club was designed to give guests a taste of Atlanta’s cultural history and urban sophistication. With comfort and convenience in mind, it will be a relaxing respite for both business and leisure travelers alike.

Design elements including a brick entryway, shutter screens, coffered ceilings, and lighting (keep an eye out for the ceiling lights that are reminiscent of outdoor ceiling fans) that help travelers feel like they’ve entered an impressive Georgia home instead of an airport lounge.

There’s plenty of seating and charming design touches throughout the lounge.

You can find Southern-inspired artwork, some created by local Atlanta artists, throughout the lounge.

One of the focal points is the enormous green tile mural behind the buffet, a work that gives a nod to one of Atlanta’s nicknames, the City in a Forest.

Also be sure to check out the 3 huge paintings featuring magnolias and dogwoods behind the elevator (only visible from the stairs), by Atlanta-based muralist Ryan Coleman.

Hot Tip:

Even though this lounge features large windows with airfield views, the decor and ambience make you feel like you’re in a wealthy friend’s living room instead of an airport lounge — so be sure to set an alarm on your watch so you don’t forget to catch your flight!

Food and Beverages

The new Delta Sky Club features a large, central buffet and 2 beverage stations.

The menu, including Southern-inspired dishes, rotates so frequent travelers see more variety.

There are 2 beverage stations in this new lounge. Each has multiple coffee machines, juice, soda, and a flavored-water machine.

The 16-seat bar serves complimentary wines, beer, and liquors. There’s also a upgrade menu that has a wider selection of premium wines, beers, and cocktails for an additional charge (you can use cash or Delta Sky Miles to pay).

Amenities

Business travelers will appreciate the lounge’s 6 soundproofed telephone booths, including 1 that’s ADA compliant.

Different types of seating can be found throughout the lounge, including high-top workstations, cozy armchairs, and bistro-style dining tables.

There’s also a theater-style media wall.

The doors to the bathrooms use hand-activated sensors so you can keep your hands clean entering and exiting. Inside, there are lots of individual stalls with floor-to-ceiling doors for total privacy.

Service

Service is also important at this and all Delta Sky Clubs. “We want to take great care of our guests,” Genovese told me.

The staff has been through weeks of training so each guest can experience Delta hospitality and service from Day 1.

The lounge has lots of different types of seating.

The team considered design details as well as how how the space can accommodate crowds (designing the buffet with 2 starting points to help keep things flowing, for example). Another consideration was the versatility of the space. Delta Sky Clubs see every type of traveler — business, leisure, families, and individuals.

“We build specific spaces to accommodate all of those travelers, and if we’re able to accommodate them where they feel like they’ve got their own space to do what they’d like to do, we feel like that’s hitting the mark and being successful,” Genovese said.

How To Access Delta Sky Clubs

There are many ways that Delta passengers can access this and any other Delta Sky Club, including purchasing a Sky Club membership, traveling in Delta One, and traveling internationally in Delta Premium Select (select destinations, for select elite members only). But the easiest way to gain access is by holding one of the following cards:

To access Sky Clubs with any of these, cardmembers need to have a same-day, Delta-operated or Delta-marketed flight. Cardmembers can unlock unlimited access to Delta Sky Clubs by spending $75,000 in a year.

Final Thoughts

Delta’s newest Sky Club in Atlanta is opening on April 8, 2025. It’s in Concourse D near gates D18 and D21, giving Delta passengers a new space to relax and recharge before their flight. This new Sky Club is the second-largest at the Atlanta airport and it offers the most seats — 506 to be exact. It’s part of Delta’s process of making the Atlanta airport a more comfortable and enjoyable experience for passengers.
