The Swiss leisure airline Edelweiss will add a new U.S. city to its route map next summer with a new flight to Seattle (SEA).

Let’s take a look at the news.

New Edelweiss Flights to Seattle Starting in June 2025

Edelweiss Air will expand its presence in North America by adding 2 new destinations: Seattle (SEA) and Halifax, Nova Scotia (YHZ).

The airline will fly from its hub in Zurich (ZRH) to Seattle twice weekly, operating on Mondays and Saturdays between June and September 2025. Service to Halifax will happen twice weekly on Thursdays and Sundays, operating between July and the beginning of October 2025.

This boosts Edelweiss’ North American presence significantly. With the new addition, the airline now serves 7 North American destinations: Denver (DEN), Calgary (YYC), Las Vegas (LAS), Tampa Bay (TPA), and Vancouver (YVR).

Edelweiss is a leisure airline based in Zurich (ZRH). It is the sister company of Swiss International Air Lines (Swiss) and a member of the Lufthansa Group. Edelweiss flies to more than 90 destinations worldwide.

Booking Edelweiss Flights

Flights for both routes are now on sale and are bookable at flyedelweiss.com for dates next summer. But we’ll warn you now: They aren’t cheap.

A one-way flight between Zurich and Seattle costs a whopping $1,800 — and that’s in economy. Want to spread out in business class? That will set you back nearly $8,000.

With cash prices so high, we recommend booking award flights.

We aren’t seeing any availability on the route with United MileagePlus just yet. However, you can book Edelweiss flights to the U.S. with Lufthansa Miles & More miles starting at 60,000 miles round-trip in economy or 112,000 miles in business.

And while it doesn’t have a nonstop flight to Seattle, Edelweiss’ sister airline, Swiss, serves destinations like New York (JFK), Newark (EWR), and San Francisco (SFO) from Zurich and Geneva (GVA) if you prefer flying that carrier.

The best way to book Swiss awards is through Star Alliance partners like Air Canada Aeroplan, ANA Mileage Club, and United MileagePlus. Here’s how much a business class flight from the U.S. can cost with miles or points with each program:

  • Air Canada Aeroplan: Between 60,000 and 70,000 points each way
  • ANA Mileage Club: From 100,000 miles round-trip (ANA does not allow one-way award bookings)
  • United MileagePlus: From 80,000 miles each way
Hot Tip:

Final Thoughts

The leisure airline Edelweiss is launching 2 new North American flights next year. Unfortunately, they are pretty expensive with cash, so we recommend booking tickets with a Star Alliance partner like Swiss or Lufthansa. Still, this is an interesting route, especially since Edelweiss’ sister airline, Swiss, does not offer direct service to Seattle. We look forward to checking out this route when it launches next summer!
