Etihad has revealed new cabins and seats for its “Beyond Borders” upgrade project, and these will debut on its upcoming Airbus A330neos.

The jets, scheduled to enter service in September 2027, will feature new-look first class, business class, and economy cabins.

Here’s what we can expect from the Abu Dhabi-based carrier.

Eithad’s New Beyond Borders Cabin Interiors

Beyond Borders is the name for Etihad‘s ongoing refreshed brand identity.

“Beyond Borders is becoming visible in the moments that matter most to our guests,” said Antonoaldo Neves, Chief Executive Officer at Etihad. “It is showcased in the aircraft they fly, the cabins they enjoy, the lounges they explore and the service that connects every part of the journey.”

The new-look first class, business class, and economy class cabins will eventually be introduced fleet-wide via a retrofit project and newly-delivered aircraft, in addition to the Airbus A330.

During the fleet upgrade and retrofit program, Etihad says it will introduce more first class seats than ever before, suggesting a similar seat to the one detailed below could be added to existing Boeing 777 and Boeing 787 aircraft.

Here’s more on what we can expect from the first and business class cabins.

First Class on Eithad’s New Airbus A330

First class on Etihad’s 15-strong subfleet of Airbus A330s will consist of a single row of 4 seats in a 1-2-1 configuration. The first class seats will be separated by a partition, rather than a galley or solid bulkhead wall — a style it introduced with its Airbus A321XLRs.

To offer its passengers something a little different, the first class suites feature a personal powder station filled with luxury amenities for an end-of-flight refresh.

The middle 2 seats are best suited for those traveling with a companion, while each seat is designed to allow for shared dining or socializing during the flight.

Business Class on Etihad’s New Airbus A330

The business class cabin will feature just 24 lie-flat seats in a 1-2-1 configuration. The smaller cabin size is likely to account for a lower premium demand on the regional and mid-haul routes where these planes will fly.

The seat’s key features include sliding privacy doors, 17.3-inch IFE screens, wireless charging, a large tray table, and “dedicated storage.”

Final Thoughts

The arrival of Etihad’s first Airbus A330 next year will usher in a whole new experience for its passengers. The planes, which will fly to mainly European, Asian, and Middle Eastern destinations, will offer the carrier’s new Beyond Borders experience, ranging from seats to service.

We can’t wait to try it out for ourselves!
