Premium, ultra-luxury travel is having somewhat of a revival, and Etihad is the latest airline to rethink its first-class product.

Along with the launch of an all-new first-class cabin on its Airbus A321LRs, the airline has detailed more changes coming to its first-class experience, including the reintroduction of its chauffeur service.

“We’re bringing First to more destinations and elevating it at every touchpoint, combining the elegance of champagne and caviar with the convenience of modern luxury,” said Antonoaldo Neves, CEO at Etihad Airways.

Here’s everything you need to know.

Etihad’s Redefined First-Class Experience

The first major change to Etihad‘s first class will be the introduction of a brand new first class on board its yet-to-fly Airbus A321LR.

In tandem with the aircraft’s launch on August 1, Etihad will introduce additional features to enhance the experience of its passengers flying in its most exclusive cabin class.

Eithad wants the experience to begin the moment a passenger books their ticket. To make that possible, Etihad is launching a concierge service for each first-class guest, which will provide personalized service around the clock.

A luxury chauffeur service will also be available to first-class passengers at both their departure and arrival airports.

Upon arrival at the swanky new Etihad terminal at Abu Dhabi Airport (AUH), passengers will be escorted from their car and whisked through the entire airport process from check-in, getting into the lounge, and boarding their flight.

Additional services coming soon for Abu Dhabi departures include a home check-in service whereby passengers’ bags will be picked up, taken to the airport, and checked in for their flight. If their flight departs from a remote stand, passengers will be driven from the terminal to their plane in a limousine.

On arrival at their destination, first-class guests can expect a member of the Etihad team to be waiting for them at the aircraft door. From there, bags will be taken by a porter, and guests will be escorted through the arrival process until they’re seated comfortably in their awaiting vehicle.
