If you have a teen at home, they can get a free Uber ride worth up to $20. If they happen to have failed their driver’s test, they can get six free rides!

Uber Teen is a new program from the popular rideshare company that features more security and tracking for parents of kids who take rides on their own. This promotion is a way to familiarize parents and teens with the new program.

Let’s take a look at the details.

Free Uber Rides for Teens

Uber is offering 1 month of free rides to teens who failed their driver’s tests. Eligible riders can get up to 6 rides, up to a maximum of $20 per ride.

To qualify for the 6 free rides, teens (ages 13-17) must fill out this survey and create or connect their Uber Teen account. The promo codes will be added to their accounts within 72 hours.

Additional details include:

  • Offer expires March 31, 2025
  • Discount expires 30 days after being added to the account
  • Promotion is valid only for teen users who have never taken a ride or ordered with Uber and/or have an existing Uber teen account
  • California residents are excluded from this promotion
  • Offer does not apply to rides requested by an adult on the teen’s behalf
  • Valid only for trips taken on a personal profile

No proof of a failed driver’s test is required, and 13-year-olds are eligible for the promotion, so Uber seems pretty relaxed about awarding these free rides.

Uber Teen Accounts

Uber Teen rolled out last year as a tool for parents to allow their kids to request their own rides and order food under parental supervision.

With enhanced safety features, real-time updates, and more experienced drivers with enhanced background checks, Uber Teen is designed to give teens more freedom while also easing concerns that many parents have.

Final Thoughts

Uber is trying to create some hype around its new Uber Teen program, which allows teens to use a limited version of the Uber app with the permission and supervision of their parents.

Through March 31, 2025, if a teen has failed their driver’s test, Uber is offering a month’s worth of rides (with a maximum of 6 rides worth up to $20 each) until they can retake their test.

If you have a teen at home and want to try this service out, now is a great time to do so and save some cash.
