Food delivery services are ubiquitous these days, but outrageous fees and other markups tend to make them a pretty bad deal overall.

Fortunately for GrubHub fans, a new offer from Amazon will help bring down those costs for a whole year.

Let’s dive into the details!

Promotion Details

Grubhub gift cards

This offer is exclusive to those who have Amazon Prime, which costs $139 per year. Here are a few more terms you should be aware of:

  • You must register for the promotion
  • Direct link to offer
  • You’ll receive a free GrubHub+ membership for 12 months
  • One offer per customer and per account
  • Existing GrubHub members are eligible
  • GrubHub+ auto-renews after promotion ends

GrubHub+ Details

All the major delivery services offer some sort of paid membership. The benefits of these programs are generally similar and include perks such as no delivery fees and special discounts. GrubHub+ is the same, and offers the following:

  • Free delivery on orders of $12+ (not including taxes, fees, and tips) at participating restaurants
  • Enjoy exclusive perks and rewards on your orders
  • Donation matching when donating spare change

GrubHub+ normally costs $9.99 per month, so this represents a savings of $120 — which is nearly the cost of an Amazon Prime membership anyway. Note, too, that you’re still eligible for this offer if you subscribe to Amazon Student, which costs just $69 per year.

Hot Tip: This GrubHub+ promotion pairs particularly well with the up to $10 monthly credit offered by the American Express® Gold Card, which is valid for GrubHub purchases.

Other Delivery Promotions

You’re never lacking options when it comes to getting food delivered. This promotion joins a few others offered by DoorDash, GrubHub, and Uber Eats.

DoorDash

Those with an eligible Chase card can receive up to 3 years of a DoorDash DashPass membership. These cards include:

Nearly all co-branded credit cards issued by Chase also include up to 12 months of a complimentary DoorDash membership noting that the membership must be activated by December 31, 2024.

GrubHub

Those with a Lyft Pink account will automatically receive a complimentary GrubHub+ membership.

Uber Eats

Although no longer available to cardholders, those who took advantage of a previous American Express promotion can receive 12 months of Uber One, which provides various benefits across Uber products. This includes waived delivery fees on Uber Eats and discounts on Uber rides.

Final Thoughts

Chances are you already have Amazon Prime, which means this is a great addition to its lineup of benefits. Whether you intend to use your membership or not, free is free — so why not sign up?

Just be sure to cancel once your 12-month period ends in order to avoid the $9.99 monthly fee.
