Frontier Airlines is adding even more ultra-low-cost fares from San Diego (SAN).

From mid-June, the carrier will start nonstop service to Austin (AUS), Chicago O’Hare (ORD), and Salt Lake City (SLC).

Here’s everything you need to know about Frontier’s latest SoCal expansion.

Frontier’s New Routes From San Diego

Each of Frontier Airlines‘ 3 new routes from San Diego International Airport is to a major U.S. city. With that, it’s no surprise that other full-service and low-cost carriers are already operating service between the city pairs.

However, the ultra-low fares that Frontier will offer on these routes are what makes them unique.

Until 11:59 p.m. E.T. on March 31, Frontier will be selling introductory one-way fares for you to snap up. On its new route to Salt Lake City, fares will start at $39, to Austin from $59, and to Chicago — the longest of the 3 routes — from just $69.

You can find specifics for each of the routes below.

Even when the limited-time introductory fares are gone, Frontier should be able to offer significantly lower fares than what Alaska, American, United, and even Southwest can offer.

Once Frontier’s 3 new routes from San Diego start, the airline will operate a total of 8 nonstop routes to and from the city.

It’s not just routes that are new for Frontier. So far, 2025 has been a year of big announcements for the airline, which include the introduction of first class and big changes to its loyalty program. The airline is also going after unhappy Southwest passengers with new promotions and free checked baggage on some flights — which could become permanent if it’s successful.

Hot Tip:

Regular Frontier Airlines flyers should sign up for its Frontier Miles loyalty program. As well as enjoying perks and benefits when climbing through the status ranks, you’ll also earn miles that you can redeem on Frontier flights instead of paying cash.

Final Thoughts

Big changes are happening at Frontier, including the constant growth of its route network. With this latest addition of routes from San Diego, a new era of ultra-low-cost travel to 3 new cities will start.

We’ll be sure to keep you updated on all things Frontier.
