An adventure can look different depending on the person and place. With the power of imagination, movies for generations have pushed the bounds of what “travel” can look like. From traveling abroad to traveling through different dimensions to even time travel, major motion pictures have taken us along many wild rides. So, are you ready for your next escape?  

We’re looking for someone to binge-watch 15 iconic travel movies to help us uncover trends in trips, destinations, themes, and more. Plus, you’ll be rewarded for your efforts with a $1,500 cash payment. If this sounds like the perfect gig for you, keep reading. 

What We’re Looking For

In addition to watching the 15 films, you’ll be asked to take notes and report on specific information throughout the movies. 

The ideal applicant will have: 

• A deep love for exploring different cultures, destinations, and experiences.
• An avid interest in cinema, with a keen eye for storytelling, cinematography, and the ability to appreciate films from various genres.
• An adventurous and open-minded attitude to explore and appreciate the diversity of travel experiences depicted in films. 
• The skill to tell stories that connect the dots between cinematic experiences and real-world travel, making readers feel as if they’re part of the journey.
• A knack for research to uncover interesting facts about the movie, context, and how they can relate to current travel opportunities. 

Requirements: 

Applicants must be 18 years or older and a U.S. citizen or permanent resident to apply. Disregarding any of these requirements is grounds for immediate disqualification.

What You’ll Need to Do

We’ve narrowed the list of wanderlust movies to the 15 below that you’ll be asked to binge-watch in a month:

You’ll receive a separate worksheet for each movie as you watch. All movies will need to be watched, and all worksheets will need to be completed by June 21, 2024. 

How To Enter

To enter the contest, contestants MUST FOLLOW THE LINK BELOW to the entry form, where you’ll be asked to tell us why you’re the perfect person for the job. You must also fill out the required fields, like your name and email, so that we can notify the winner once one has been selected.

Contestants who do not complete the entry form by following the link below will not have an official entry into the contest. 

The deadline for contest entries is Friday, May 10, 2024, at 11:59 p.m. ET. Contestants will need to submit their applications by that date to be considered. After this date, no further entries to the contest will be permitted.

What You’ll Get

The winner will be announced on Friday, May 24th, and will receive a $1,500 payment. You’ll also receive a $75 Amazon gift card to cover the cost of renting the required films. 

Contest Terms and Conditions

The rules of the competition and the prize for the winner are as follows: 

1. The promoter of this competition is Upgraded Points, whose principal office is located at 1155 Barton Springs Rd., Austin, Texas 78704.
2. Employees of Upgraded Points, their family members, or anyone else connected in any way with the competition or helping to set up the competition shall not be permitted to enter the competition.
3. Persons must be at least 18 years old or otherwise have reached the age of majority under the laws of the state where they reside, in order to participate.
4. Only residents of the United States are eligible to participate.
5. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED.
6. There is NO ENTRY FEE AND NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER THIS COMPETITION. Any purchase or consideration otherwise given by entrants will not improve one’s chances of winning.
7. The route to entry for the competition and details of how to enter are available via www.upgradedpoints.com. Individuals may enter to win by following the link provided above and describing why they should be chosen to participate. Upon clicking the participation link, entrants will be asked to provide their name and contact information so that Upgraded Points can notify the winner of the results.
8. The closing date for entry will be Friday, May 10, 2024, at 11:59 PM ET. After this date, no further entries to the competition will be permitted.
9. Only 1 winner will be selected from the entire pool of eligible entries. The selection process will be at the discretion of Upgraded Points. 
10. The winner will be notified by email and/or letter within 15 business days of the closing date. If the winner cannot be contacted or does not claim the prize within 2 days of notification, we reserve the right to withdraw the prize from the winner and pick a replacement winner.
11. Upgraded Points will notify the winner when and where the prize can be collected.
12. The winner agrees to the use of his/her name, image, and video in any publicity material. Any personal data relating to the winner or any other entrants will be used solely in accordance with current federal and state data protection legislation and will not be disclosed to a third party without the entrant’s prior consent.

14. Upgraded Points’ decision in respect of all matters to do with the competition will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.
