A much-loved Hyatt resort in Scottsdale, Arizona, got an extensive rebrand and became the Grand Hyatt Scottsdale Resort.

Here are the details on when it opens, what got renovated, and how to book it with points!

Grand Hyatt’s Foray Into Arizona

After a whopping $115 million renovation, the Grand Hyatt Scottsdale Resort is now open for guests.

The hotel — which rebranded from the Hyatt Regency Scottsdale Resort & Spa at Gainey Ranch — dupdate its 496 guest rooms and suites. Upgraded amenities include 6 restaurants, a new ballroom, 10 pools, and a 19-treatment-room spa.

This is Hyatt’s first Grand Hyatt in Arizona. The hotel chain has an impressive presence in the Grand Canyon State, including high-end options like the Andaz Scottsdale Resort & Bungalows and one of the most luxurious resorts in Hyatt’s portfolio, Miraval Arizona.

The new Grand Hyatt should fit right in, with Hyatt saying the resort now offers “rich amenities [and] a captivating design.”

“We are creating a destination that will not only reflect the region’s rich heritage but will also provide our guests with an immersive, elevated experience that connects them to the illuminating essence of the Sonoran Desert,” said Lance Marrin, general manager of Hyatt Regency Scottsdale Resort & Spa at Gainey Ranch.

Booking Grand Hyatt Scottsdale Resort

The Grand Hyatt Scottsdale Resort is now open, and you can book a stay here with cash or points.

The Grand Hyatt (like the Hyatt Regency before it) is listed as a Category 6 World of Hyatt property. That means rates start at 21,000 points (off-peak) and go up to 29,000 (peak) per night. Hyatt had previously confirmed with Upgraded Points that the new Grand Hyatt would remain as a Category 6 property.

While World of Hyatt points aren’t the easiest to earn, they are among the most valuable hotel points at 1.5 cents per point. To book this hotel, you can transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards or Bilt Rewards points to Hyatt at a 1:1 ratio or earn a welcome bonus offer on the best credit cards for Hyatt loyalists.

Hot Tip:

You can also apply a Category 1-7 certificate for a stay. Hyatt Milestone Rewards enable you to earn a Category 1-7 certificate when you stay 60 nights (or earn 100,000 points) in a calendar year or stay 100 nights.

Final Thoughts

The opening of the Grand Hyatt Scottsdale Resort is excellent news for Hyatt loyalists, as they now have a new, high-end points hotel in the heart of Arizona. Any time a hotel gets a much-needed update (and a rebrand), it’s always a sign that the brand recognizes the importance of luxury options in that destination.

We look forward to checking out this hotel now that it’s reopened for guests.
