Hawaiian Airlines is adding new routes out of Sacramento and Sale Lake City in spring 2024, providing more options to get to the islands! The new flights will all be operated on narrow-body aircraft and will serve some additional cities beyond just Honolulu.

Aircraft

All 3 new routes will be operated on Hawaiian’s A321neo aircraft, featuring both a first and economy class cabin. This isn’t a wide-body like Hawaiian runs on other routes, but it does provide the option for a premium cabin product with recliner-style seats.

Salt Lake City to Honolulu

The Salt Lake City (SLC) to Honolulu (HNL) route will follow the following schedule:

  • Depart Honolulu at 6:50 p.m., arrive into Salt Lake City at 5:15 a.m. (next day)
  • Depart Salt Lake City at 7:00 a.m., arrive into Honolulu at 9:55 a.m.

These flights will operate every day, and unfortunately the flight to Salt Lake City is a redeye, which usually isn’t comfortable on an A321 jet.

Sacramento to Līhuʻe

The Sacramento (SMF) to Līhuʻe (LIH) flight will follow this schedule:

  • Depart Līhuʻe at 12:05 p.m., arrive into Sacramento at 8:25 p.m.
  • Depart Sacramento at 8:10 a.m., arrive into Līhuʻe at 10:50 a.m.

All flights will operate Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.

Kona to Sacramento

The Sacramento (SMF) to Kona (KOA) route will follow this schedule:

  • Depart Kona at 12:15 p.m., arrive into Sacramento at 8:25 p.m.
  • Depart Sacramento at 8:10 a.m., arrive into Kona at 10:40 a.m.

These flights will operate Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday.

All of the Sacramento routes will be in addition to daily service to Honolulu, which sometimes operates on an A330.

Hot Tip:

All flights are available for sale now and will commence service on May 24, 2024.

Final Thoughts

If you’re a Sacramento flyer, there are a ton more options for you to get to Hawaii, and to some of the different islands there. It’s a massive expansion for California’s capital. Salt Lake City will also see it’s first service on Hawaiian, competing with Delta on the same route.
