It was another exciting week in the hotel industry. Several new hotels have opened across the globe, including a palace hotel in India, a spa hotel in France, and a new hotel in the California Wine Country.  

Read on for our roundup of the most exciting hotel news you may have missed this week.

Hotel Openings

Fairmont Udaipur Palace, India

This week, Accor announced the grand opening of Fairmont Udaipur Palace, located in Rajasthan, India. With 327 guest rooms and suites, this palace-style hotel is set atop the ancient Aravali Hills.

 The Fairmont brand appears to have gone all out in designing this hotel, which features 8 dining options, 7 event venues, a 12,000-square-foot spa and gym, a pool, kids’ play areas, and an all-ages activity center.

  • Typical points cost: Every 2,000 ALL – Accor Live Limitless points can cover €40 (roughly $47) of your bill

voco The Club – Dublin Gateway, Ireland

voco The Club – Dublin Gateway has officially opened for guests, just 15 miles from Dublin in the heart of County Kildare. The hotel features 50 guest rooms and offers amenities such as a brasserie-style restaurant, an outdoor spa, multiple meeting spaces, and parking facilities.

The hotel is expected to be fully rebranded as an IHG property by the end of the summer, but is already participating in IHG One Rewards.

Le Talaia Hotel & Spa Biarritz – MGallery Collection, France

Accor’s luxury MGallery Collection brand is back, this time with a new hotel in France: Le Talaia Hotel & Spa Biarritz – MGallery Collection. Offering unparalleled views of the Côte des Basques, this hotel has 149 guest rooms, with amenities such as a rooftop restaurant, a cocktail bar, and a spa.

AC Hotel Wichita Downtown, Kansas

The first AC Hotel has officially opened in the Sunflower State. The AC Hotel Wichita Downtown occupies a building originally constructed in 1929, which was once home to the Russell Stover Candy Shop.

Today, it has 118 guest rooms, a 650-square-foot fitness center, 2,000 square feet of flexible event space, and the signature AC Kitchen and AC Lounge for eating and drinking.

The REMI Scottsdale, Autograph Collection, Arizona

Scottsdale, Arizona, has emerged as one of the most popular and sought-after destinations in the U.S. Marriott is getting in on the action with a new, luxury hotel, The REMI Scottsdale, Autograph Collection.

The hotel has 161 guest rooms, including 25 suites. There’s a full slate of amenities, from 5 dining options, the tallest rooftop pool in the city, and a fitness center.

Cambria Hotel Templeton- Paso Robles, California

Choice Hotels loyalists have a new points option in the heart of California’s Wine Country. The boutique Cambria Hotel Templeton-Paso Robles has officially opened to guests, featuring 132 guest rooms.

Amenities include an on-site restaurant serving regional wines, a pool and spa with cabanas, an outdoor bar, firepits, a fitness center, and 12 EV charging stations. If you’re interested in exploring California wines, you’re within a short drive of more than 200 wineries and breweries.

Upcoming Hotels

JW Marriott Hotel Tokyo (2025)

Japan’s capital will see the opening of the JW Marriott Hotel Tokyo, as reservations are open for October 2, 2025. The property will feature 200 rooms, an executive lounge, gym, pool, spa, and event spaces. The hotel is in the Shingawa City region and well connected to public transportation. Cash rates are available for $830 and above; unfortunately, award stays using points aren’t available yet.

Elika Cave Suites Cappadocia, Curio Collection by Hilton, Türkiye (2025)

Here’s an interesting one: Hilton plans to open Elika Cave Suites Cappadocia, its first hotel located in a cave, in Türkiye. Boasting just 36 guest rooms, the hotel will sit directly below the Ortahisar Castle in a natural cave. The hotel is in the process of joining Hilton Honors and will feature a bar and terrace, a restaurant, a spa, 4 pools, and a gym.

Spark by Hilton Ponce, Puerto Rico (Late 2025)

Hilton will debut its low-cost Spark by Hilton in Ponce, Puerto Rico, later this year. Spark by Hilton, Ponce, will have 120 guest rooms, meeting spaces, a breakfast area, and an outdoor pool. Other amenities will include in-room refrigerators, complimentary breakfast, and multi-functional common spaces. This will be the brand’s first hotel in the Caribbean and Latin America.

The Venice Times, Vignette Collection, Italy (2025)

The Venice Times, located in Italy, will join IHG’s Vignette Collection portfolio by the end of the year. The 30-room hotel features a restaurant, a cocktail bar, and an outdoor terrace. This will be the third Vignette Collection hotel to arrive in Italy, following the Hotel Alexandra in Rome and Costa Irminia Retreat & Spa in Marina di Ragusa, Sicily.

Crowne Plaza Madinah Al Haramain, Saudi Arabia (2026)

IHG this week announced that it had signed a deal for the Crowne Plaza Madinah Al Haramain, a 383-room hotel in Saudi Arabia’s Holy City. Not much is known about the hotel, but it is scheduled to open in 2026 and will feature 2 food and beverage options.

Marriott To Expand City Express by Marriott in Brazil

Marriott has inked a deal for 7 City Express by Marriott hotels in Brazil, marking the brand’s debut in the country. The hotels will all open in Northeast Brazil beginning in 2028. Marriott says these signings are part of a larger plan to open 30 City Express by Marriott hotels in Brazil over the next 15 years.

IHG Growing Holiday Inn Brand in Japan

In more expansion news, IHG announced this week that it would convert 2 hotels in Japan to ANA Holiday Inn. The 130-room Celecton Premier Kobe Sanda Hotel will be converted to ANA Holiday Inn Kobe Sanda, while the 126-room Hotel Bientos will become the ANA Holiday Inn Tosu. Both properties will undergo extensive renovations and be rebranded as IHG properties in 2026.

Final Thoughts

This was a hectic, yet exciting, week for hotel news. Several hotels have opened or are set to open in exciting locations, such as a palace in India and a literal cave in Türkiye. Plus, a handful of affordable points hotels have opened in exciting destinations such as Scottsdale, Arizona, and the California Wine Country.
