Upcoming Hotels

InterContinental Guayaquil, Ecuador (2027)

IHG announced this week that it was bringing its ultra-luxe InterContinental brand to Ecuador’s largest city. The InterContinental Guayaquil, which will open in 2027, will feature 101 guest rooms and suites. Amenities will include a resort-style rooftop pool, a spa, a fitness center, and the signature Club InterContinental lounge.

Samara Lombok, Indonesia (2027)

The Destination by Hyatt brand is establishing its presence in Indonesia with the planned 2027 opening of Samara Lombok. The resort will have 249 guest rooms and villas, plus a “wellness village,” several swimming pools, more than 10 restaurants and bars.

Elephant Tree Resort and Villas Tobago, Tapestry Collection by Hilton, Tobago (2028)

There aren’t many hotels on the Caribbean island of Tobago — and just 2 points options from Choice. Hilton will change that in the coming years with the opening of Elephant Tree Resort and Villas Tobago, Tapestry Collection by Hilton, in 2028. The resort will feature 40 guest rooms, a spa, a fitness center, 3 pools, and a variety of dining outlets.

Regent Kyoto (2028)

The Regent Kyoto is scheduled to open in 2028. Not much is known about the hotel, but it will have 83 rooms. However, IHG says each room will feature an “engawa” zone by the window, where guests can “indulge and connect with the surrounding gardens and the natural environment beyond.”

Andaz Nagoya, Japan (2034)

Hyatt will open the Andaz Nagoya, the brand’s first property in Japan’s Chubu region, in 2034. Andaz Nagoya will offer 150 guest rooms and suites, along with a rooftop bar, multiple restaurants and lounges, meeting and event spaces, a fitness center, an indoor pool, and a spa.

Hotel News

A Park Hyatt Hotel Is Coming to Italy

One Mile at a Time reports that the Capo dei Greci hotel in Sicily, Italy, will be converted into a Park Hyatt property. There’s no indication when this will take place, but as One Mile at a Time notes, Hyatt indicated that a property was coming in an earnings call earlier this year.

A note on Capo dei Greci’s website reads: “The existing hotel will be converted into a luxury lifestyle resort operated under an internationally recognized brand, completed by numerous refined F&B outlets, wide gardens and pools and a 1,000 sqm Spa in partnership with Omnam Investment Group. The hotel will benefit from a rare direct and private sea access.”

We’ll certainly keep an eye out for this one and will update when we have more information.

Radisson Launches Direct Restaurant Booking on Website

Radisson Hotels announced this week that it would make all 1,900+ of its restaurants available for booking at RadissonHotels.com. The new “Restaurants” page displays real-time reservations and personalized recommendations tailored to your location or upcoming hotel stay.

You can now see all of Radisson’s restaurants in its portfolio, which include brands such as Issei, Stoke, Balaustine, Filini, and Shanghai Kitchen.

“This launch marks an important step in our ongoing digital transformation and reinforces our commitment to elevate every aspect of the guest journey,” said Raul Alvarez Barrera, the head of digital experience at Radisson Hotel Group. “Our goal is to make discovering and booking our restaurants as intuitive and inspiring as booking a hotel stay.”

Choice Hotels’ Everhome Suites Brand Expands With 9 New Properties

Choice Hotels announced 6 new openings and 3 groundbreakings across the United States. This now brings the midscale, extended-stay brand’s footprint to over a dozen hotels open, 19 under construction, and more than 60 in the pipeline. Some of the hotels open or opening soon include:

  • Everhome Suites El Paso, Texas, opened in April 2025. Located near Fort Bliss, this 122-room hotel offers a fitness center, meeting room, laundry facility, and complimentary parking. Rates start at 20,000 Choice Privileges points per night.
  • Everhome Suites Amarillo, Texas, is expected to open in June. The 114-room hotel will serve the regional medical hub nearby and offer amenities such as guest rooms with full kitchens and a market. Rates start at 20,000 points per night.

Final Thoughts

This was another busy week across the hotel industry. Several luxury hotels opened in Portugal, and they are all pretty affordable with points. Additionally, new point options have opened in Chicago and Vietnam, with others planned for the Caribbean, South America, Sicily, and Asia later this decade and next.

As always, we’ll be back right here next week with more exciting news across the hotel industry!
