Hyatt is expanding its presence in the Caribbean with a new resort opening in St. Lucia later this year.

Here’s what you need to know.

Hyatt’s Big Expansion in St. Lucia

Cas En Bas Beach Resort will have 90 studio, 1- and 2-bedroom suites. All guest rooms will have either private balconies or garden terraces and kitchenettes.

The hotel will have several dining facilities, such as a sports pub, a rooftop bar, a restaurant, and a cafe. Other amenities include a swimming pool, a retail market, a fitness center, and a spa.

The hotel is expected to open in late 2024, though Hyatt didn’t share an exact opening date.

Hyatt said the new resort signals the brand’s commitment to growing in “key leisure markets and destinations.” St. Lucia, nestled between Martinique and St. Vincent and the Grenadines, is known for its mountains and beaches.

You can reach St. Lucia (UVF) on nonstop flights from several U.S. cities, such as New York (JFK), Charlotte (CLT), and Miami (MIA).

“Cas en Bas Beach Resort will truly represent the Destination by Hyatt brand, embodying the spirit of St. Lucia and offering an authentic Caribbean lifestyle to travelers seeking to immerse themselves in the breathtaking destination,” said David Kuperberg, head of development of Dream Hotels, Hyatt.

Bottom Line:

Destination by Hyatt brand in the Caribbean, a collection of independent hotels, resorts and residences located around the world. This is the brand’s debut in the Caribbean.

Booking Hyatt Hotels & Resorts in St. Lucia

Hyatt doesn’t have a significant presence in St. Lucia with just 1 resort open at the moment: the Zoëtry Marigot Bay St. Lucia.

However, the resort is considered 1 of the best on the island. The Zoëtry is a 124-room resort is a AAA 4 Diamond boutique resort and is located on St. Lucia’s best marina.

As an award category F property, rates will start at 42,000 points per night and up to 58,000 points per night. You’ll find cash rates starting around $650 per night for dates this spring.

World of Hyatt points aren’t the easiest to earn. However, they are considered 1 of the most valuable hotel points, worth 1.5 cents each according to our latest valuations.

Still, you can earn World of Hyatt points by having a co-branded credit card or transferring Bilt Rewards or Chase Ultimate Rewards to the program.

Final Thoughts

Hyatt doesn’t have many hotels in St. Lucia (or the West Indies, generally), which makes the news of this resort all the more sweeter.

While we don’t know when it will open or how many points will be required, Cas En Bas Beach Resort will undoubtedly be a welcome addition for Hyatt fans traveling to the Caribbean!
