Hyatt has announced a new property in Nepal, the Hyatt Centric Soalteemode Kathmandu.

Here’s what you need to know.

First Hyatt Centric Hotel in Nepal

The 153-room Hyatt Centric Soalteemode Kathmandu will be a rebrand of the existing Hyatt Place Kathmandu, which is still open for guests. Plans for the rebrand include a renovated entrance and lobby area, a sky bar and lounge, and “enhanced” amenities.

The hotel is located in the city center, near several UNESCO World Heritage sites and is a 20-minute drive to Tribhuvan International Airport (KTN), Nepal’s main airport.

Hyatt hasn’t released many details about the upcoming property, such as when the rebrand will take place or how many points will be required for a stay.

“Strategically located in the heart of Kathmandu, we are confident this property will serve as an idyllic home base offering personalized, of-place service and experiences for guests looking to explore the rich history of the destination,” said Dhruva Rathore, vice president of development, India & Southwest Asia, Hyatt.

Rathore went on to say that the rebrand to Hyatt Centric would “further strengthen” Hyatt’s portfolio in Southwest Asia.

Booking Hyatt Hotels in Nepal

Hyatt has 2 properties in Nepal: the Hyatt Place Kathmandu and Hyatt Regency Kathmandu.

Hyatt Place Kathmandu, as mentioned above, will be rebranded into the Hyatt Centric Soalteemode Kathmandu. However, the hotel is still open and accepting guests. It is a Category 1 hotel, meaning award nights start at just 3,500 World of Hyatt points per night. Cash rates are also available, starting at $109 per night for dates this spring.

The Hyatt Regency Kathmandu is also a Category 1 hotel, with award nights starting at 3,500 points. Cash rates start at $171 per night this spring.

Asia is perhaps the best region in the world to redeem World of Hyatt points, as the chain offers many luxury hotels at affordable points rates. While earning World of Hyatt points isn’t easy, Hyatt’s co-branded credit cards and transfer partners, Chase Ultimate Rewards or Bilt Rewards, give you options to earn points quickly.

Hot Tip:

You can also use a Category 1-4 free night certificate at either property. Read our guide on how to redeem Hyatt Category 1-4 free night certificates!

Final Thoughts

Hyatt hasn’t said much about the new Hyatt Centric hotel, but the conversion is undoubtedly good news for travelers. While we await more news about the property, the current Hyatt Place Kathmandu (a Category 1 hotel) is an excellent choice for a mattress run!
