NoMad — otherwise known as “North of Madison Square Park” — is a trendy neighborhood in Manhattan, New York City. It’s home to an ever-growing array of hot restaurants, shopping, and buzzy hotels.

Now, Hyatt can lay claim to one of those interesting hotels in the neighborhood. The former James NoMad has joined the World of Hyatt program under the chain’s Unbound Collection, giving fans of the program an option in one of the most talked about NYC neighborhoods.

Here’s what you should know.

The James NoMad Becomes the Hotel Seville NoMad, Part of Hyatt’s Unbound Collection

Hyatt told The Points Guy that it had acquired The James NoMad and has changed its name to the Hotel Seville NoMad, a member of Hyatt’s Unbound Collection.

The Chicago-based hotel giant also told TPG that the hotel would soon receive a makeover to better blend its beaux-arts exterior with a more modern interior design. All 348 guest rooms and suites will get a facelift.

Interestingly, the property is home to one of New York’s most famous Italian restaurants, Scarpetta, making it a destination not only for hotel guests but for tourists and locals as well.

In addition to Scarpetta, there will be a lobby bar known as Il Bar, which will serve cocktails and smaller dishes, as well as a speakeasy bar, The Seville, which will serve drinks and feature jazz music and even some DJ performances from time to time.

Such a landmark property deserves a design that matches its reputation, and TPG reports that the renovation should live up to those expectations, considering the fact that its revamp will be handled by the same firm that was responsible for other top New York properties including The Beekman, a Thompson Hotel, the Ace Hotel New York, and the Thompson Central Park.

Booking the Hotel Seville NoMad With Points

The Hotel Seville NoMad is available to book now through Hyatt’s channels. It’s a Category 6 property in the World of Hyatt award chart, meaning off-peak nights cost 21,000 points, standard nights cost 25,000, and peak nights cost 29,000 World of Hyatt points.

These rates aren’t bad at all, especially considering where this property is located in Manhattan. Plus, it’s fairly easy to earn World of Hyatt points. The program has 2 great transfer partners in Chase Ultimate Rewards and Bilt Rewards. You can also earn points through welcome bonuses and from spending on the chain’s co-branded credit cards.

Final Thoughts

This is great news for fans of the World of Hyatt program, who now have a new option for redeeming their points in one of New York’s trendiest neighborhoods. Already home to one of the city’s most popular restaurants, we can’t wait to see the rest of the property get a total renovation so that the interior matches its incredible exterior.
