Hyatt has announced plans for the Hyatt House Tokyo Shibuya, which will be the Hyatt House brand’s first location in Toyko and second in Japan. This new hotel is scheduled to open in mid-2024.

Here’s what we know so far about this upcoming Tokyo hotel.

Hyatt House Tokyo Shibuya To Open in 2024

Hyatt House Tokyo Shibuya is a new hotel that is scheduled to debut in mid-2024. It’s part of Hyatt’s plan to expand its footprint in the Asia-Pacific region which includes Tokyo’s first Unbound Collection by Hyatt location, due to open later in 2023.

Hyatt House is an extended-stay brand within Hyatt’s expanding portfolio of brands designed for travelers who appreciate the comforts of home while they’re away. There is 1 other Hyatt House location in Japan — Hyatt House Kanazawa, located in Ishikawa.

This new Hyatt House location will feature 126 guest rooms, ranging in size from 344 square feet up to 915 square feet with apartment-like amenities including kitchens, washers and dryers, and separate living areas. Community areas include a fitness center, lounge, bar, restaurant, and an indoor swimming pool. The hotel’s lobby will face a rooftop garden.

The Shibuya area of Toyko is a well-known center for business, shopping, and dining, and this new Hyatt House will be an integral part of the redevelopment of the Shibuya Station area.

This new hotel, as part of a deal with Tokyu Land Corporation, will provide international travelers and locals alike modern accommodations that offer the comforts of home in the heart of this vibrant part of the city.

Bottom Line: A new Hyatt House location will debut in Tokyo in 2024. Hyatt House Tokyo Shibuya will be the Hyatt House brand’s first location in Tokyo and will be an important part of the redevelopment of the Shibuya Station area.

How To Book Hyatt House Tokyo Shibuya

This property will participate in the World of Hyatt program when it does open, meaning you can use points for stays. And remember, World of Hyatt points are easy to earn, especially because the program is a transfer partner with Chase Ultimate Rewards — points are easy to earn on a number of Ultimate Reward-earning credit cards and then can be transferred to Hyatt at a 1:1 ratio.

At this time, we don’t know what cash rates will look like at this hotel, nor do we know the category rating it’ll be assigned in the World of Hyatt program, though existing Hyatt properties in the city range from Category 4 to Category 7.

Final Thoughts

Hyatt House Tokyo Shibuya, which will be the brand’s first location in Toyko and second in Japan, is scheduled to open in mid-2024, marking another location in Hyatt’s expansion plans for the Asia-Pacific region.
