If you’ve been eyeing an all-inclusive stay at Hyatt’s properties Jamaica, you may need to reset your timeline. Hyatt has shared a new update confirming that most of its Jamaican properties will remain closed longer than originally expected due to last fall’s devastating hurricane.

Here’s what travelers and World of Hyatt members should know.

Most Hyatt Jamaica Resorts to Remain Closed Until November 1

Hyatt has informed travel partners that 7 of its 8 hotels in Jamaica will remain closed until November 1, 2026, extending a suspension of operations that was initially put in place after Hurricane Melissa struck the island in late October.

Hyatt first paused operations at its Jamaica properties through January 31, 2026, while teams assessed storm-related damage. According to the latest update shared with the trade, those assessments are now complete, and the company has opted for a longer closure period at most resorts to allow for repairs and broader enhancements.

The following Hyatt-affiliated resorts are now confirmed to stay closed through November 2026:

  • Breathless Montego Bay Resort & Spa
  • Dreams Rose Hall Resort & Spa
  • Hyatt Zilara Rose Hall
  • Hyatt Ziva Rose Hall
  • Secrets St. James Montego Bay
  • Secrets Wild Orchid Montego Bay
  • Jewel Grande Montego Bay Resort & Spa

Hyatt explained that the extended timeline is intended not only to address physical damage caused by Hurricane Melissa but also to allow the resorts to make upgrades before welcoming guests back.

Notably, Zoëtry Montego Bay Jamaica, the only property not included in the closure list, is expected to resume normal hotel operations on Sunday, February 1, 2026.

Hyatt also indicated that additional updates will be shared as work progresses, suggesting that timelines may continue to evolve depending on the progress of construction and recovery efforts.

Hot Tip:

If you were planning to use points in Jamaica, consider changing those plans to another Hyatt all-inclusive in the Caribbean or Mexico for now.

Final Thoughts

Extended closures are never great news when you’re planning a trip, but this update at least gives you clear dates to work with if you’re looking ahead to 2026. For now, it makes sense to plan around a November reopening with Hyatt — and keep Zoëtry Montego Bay in mind as a possible earlier option if Jamaica is still on your list.
