At the end of next quarter, the newest IHG Vignette Collection hotel is scheduled to open in Doha, with 5 other locations in Saudi Arabia, Zimbabwe, and Kuwait. The new property, called Velero Hotel Doha Lusail, will be conveniently located for those traveling to the Asia World Cup Finals in the spring.

Here’s what travelers can look forward to at the new property, as well as other news about IHG’s latest expansion in the Middle East.

IHG Expands in Doha

The major hotel chain has announced the Velero Hotel Doha Lusail opening slated for early 2024. The hotel will be located in Qatar’s second-largest city and home to the 2022 World Cup finals, Lusail.

The hotel will feature 244 rooms, wellness facilities, and a spa. There will be 3 food and beverage venues, a gym, and a swimming pool. Located in a mixed-use development, guests can look forward to the proximity to a retail mall as well. Business travelers can make use of the hotel’s meeting and event spaces.

In reference to the new hotel, IHG Hotels and Resorts Managing Director Haitham Mattar says, “The signature Vignette Collection offering, inspired by location, history, and architecture, is created for the next-generation luxury and lifestyle traveler.” The company anticipates an increase in travelers to the region and plans to be prepared or their arrival.

How to Book

While the Velero Hotel Doha Lusail is not accepting reservations yet, you can expect to be able to reserve a room with cash or IHG One Rewards points.

The hotel will open just in time for the Asia World Cup Finals, which are scheduled to take place from April 15 to May 3, 2024. If you’re planning a trip, you can also take advantage of wide open award availability on Qatar Airways to get there.
