Japan Airlines (JAL) now offers complimentary Wi-Fi for business class passengers on international flights, beginning October 1, 2024.

Passengers traveling in long-haul business and first class with the airline will receive unlimited Wi-Fi access, whereas those in premium economy and economy class will enjoy 1 free hour of Wi-Fi access.

Here’s what you should know.

JAL Premium Passengers Now Enjoy Free Wi-Fi

Japan Airlines (JAL) has introduced complimentary Wi-Fi for business-class passengers on international flights.

Historically, only passengers flying first class with the Japanese carrier have benefited from the convenience of complimentary Wi-Fi during long-haul flights. Now, business-class passengers have the opportunity to enjoy this inflight perk for free.

Beginning October 1, 2024, all JAL flights departing from Japan (excluding codeshare flights) will provide business- and first-class passengers with unlimited inflight Wi-Fi using an exclusive promotion code.

The expansion of these services will enhance the inflight experience for passengers, bringing it closer to what they enjoy on the ground, including the ability to access their social media accounts.

Previously, Wi-Fi on long-haul Japan Airlines flights cost around $20, making this a nice savings when traveling to or from Japan.

JAL Premium Economy and Economy Get 1 Hour of Free Wi-Fi

Japan Airlines’ Wi-Fi updates will benefit not only the airline’s premium customers but also those traveling in premium economy and economy classes. Beginning October 1, 2024, passengers flying in premium economy and economy classes on international Japan Airlines flights will receive 1 hour of free Wi-Fi access.

While the first hour is complimentary, premium economy and economy passengers have the option to purchase an inflight Wi-Fi connection plan to stay connected.

The airline also announced that it would continue to expand and improve in-flight Wi-Fi capabilities, making an already pleasurable inflight experience even better.

Bottom Line:

Starting on October 1, 2024, JAL passengers in the economy and premium economy cabins will have the opportunity to enjoy 1 hour of inflight Wi-Fi.

Final Thoughts

Enhanced connectivity is excellent news for Japan Airlines passengers, particularly on long-haul international flights. Beginning October 1, passengers in business class will have access to complimentary Wi-Fi, while economy and premium economy passengers will receive 1 hour of free Wi-Fi access.

Passengers will be able to enjoy content off their tablets, laptops, or phones or get things done while flying internationally to or from Japan.
