Korean Air has unveiled its new business class seats, called Prestige Suites 2.0, and they look fantastic so far.

Rather than rolling out the seats in a test phase or making a big event, the airline has simply updated its website with photos of the new product.

Wondering which planes will have Korean Air’s new Prestige Suites 2.0 in business class and when you can expect to try out one of these seats? Let’s take a look at the details.

New Korean Air Business Class: Prestige Suites 2.0

Let’s start with the bad news: You can’t fly in these new seats yet. They’re not available on any planes and weren’t rolled out at a major press event. Instead, Korean Air merely updated the page for its Boeing 787-10 planes, showcasing its newest business class, which the airline calls Prestige Suites 2.0.

Renderings of the new cabin show offset suites in a staggered 1-2-1 layout somewhat similar to Qatar Airways’ Qsuite (though without seats facing the rear) and with much more privacy than the staggered layout on Turkish Airlines’ Boeing 787-9 business class. Every seat in business class will have direct aisle access.

With the staggered layout, some seats in the middle will truly sit together, offering the option to even lay down together without the divider between seats. The divider, if you want it, can extend to 52 inches in height.

The staggered layout also means some middle seats will feel further apart. And the same applies to solo seats by the window. This overhead view highlights seats in the even row (row 10 here) being much closer to the window than those in odd rows, where seats are closer to the aisle.

However, even being closer to the aisle, the Prestige Suites 2.0 still provide plenty privacy, thanks to sliding doors.

Seats will also include plenty of amenities. These include a storage cubby, handheld remote, USB-C charging ports, and universal outlets. The standout feature is the wireless charging pad.

Each seat will include a 23.8-inch Ultra HD screen as part of the personal entertainment system.

Seat maps for Korean Air’s Prestige Suites 2.0 show 10 rows of seats in a staggered 1-2-1 layout. Rows 7-16 will be the business class cabin, with lavatories and galleys both in front of and behind the cabin.

Hot Tip:

Once these new suites are available on planes, you should be able to book them with miles in your Korean Air SKYPASS account or using miles from other SkyTeam partners.

Korean Air Prestige Suites 2.0 Details

Looking for a boiled-down version? Here’s what you need to know about Korean Air’s new business class:

  • Aircraft types: Will be available on the Boeing 787-10 aircraft; Korean Air currently has orders for 20 of these. Korean Air also has 25 Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, and these should be retrofitted at some point.
  • Cabin layout: Staggered 1-2-1
  • Lie-flat capability: All seats in the suites will lay completely flat.
  • Bed length: Between 78.2 and 79.2 inches (198-201 cm)
  • Seat width: 21 inches (53 cm)
  • Seat pitch: 46 inches (117 cm)
  • Screen size: 23.8 inches (60 cm)
  • Sliding doors: Included

Final Thoughts

Korean Air quietly uploaded new renderings of its newest business class, known as Prestige Suites 2.0. While these seats will initially feature on the Boeing 787-10, which the airline isn’t flying yet, other aircraft types should be retrofitted in the future.

Once these new suites hit the skies, count on us to provide updates for where you can find them and how you can book them with points.
