South Korea’s major airlines are taking a big step toward faster, more reliable inflight connectivity. Korean Air, Asiana Airlines, Jin Air, Air Busan, and Air Seoul have announced plans to introduce Starlink high-speed Wi-Fi across their fleets.

As airlines move toward full integration of Starlink Wi-Fi, the goal is to enhance the onboard experience for passengers. Here’s how they plan to roll it out.

As airlines continue to transition to Starlink for their inflight Wi-Fi service, passengers can expect a more stable (and fast!) connection in the air — especially on long-haul flights.

Korean Air — along with Asiana Airlines, Jin Air, Air Busan, and Air Seoul — is joining this shift, with all 5 carriers set to begin installation prep and testing later this year.

While rollout timelines will vary, the earliest Starlink service could launch as soon as the third quarter of 2026.

Korean Air and Asiana Airlines plan to prioritize their long-haul Boeing 777-300ER and Airbus A350-900 fleets as the first aircraft to receive the enhanced Wi-Fi service. Korean aims to complete fleetwide installation by the end of 2027 following its integration with Asiana.

Additionally, Jin Air will begin equipping its Boeing 737-8 aircraft, while Air Busan and Air Seoul will review their fleets to determine installation order.

“Connectivity is an essential part of the travel experience, and with Starlink, our customers will stay connected with fast and seamless internet,” said a Korean Air representative. “As Korea’s flag carrier and a leading global airline, we are committed to upgrading our services and infrastructure to deliver an elevated passenger journey as we strive to become the world’s most loved airline.”

Many airlines now offer free Starlink Wi-Fi, but Korean Air hasn’t yet said whether passengers will be charged for the service, so we’ll have to wait and see how the airline approaches pricing.

Hot Tip:

If fast Wi-Fi is important when choosing flights, look for aircraft receiving Starlink first in late 2026 and beyond — especially Korean Air’s and Asiana’s long-haul Boeing 777-300ER and Airbus A350-900 routes.

Final Thoughts

Korean Air’s adoption of Starlink — along with Asiana and other major South Korean carriers — marks a big step forward for inflight connectivity. With rollout beginning as early as 2026 and continuing through 2027, travelers can expect faster speeds, better reliability, and a more seamless online experience across more routes — including those to and from the U.S.
