Without fanfare — and without updating its website — Lufthansa has unveiled its remodeled lounge in Newark, decorated in the premium Allegris style.

Along with new furniture and a fresh coat of paint, the lounge aims to provide better food, better drinks, and better comfort. Let’s take a look.

New Lufthansa Allegris Lounge in Newark

The Lufthansa station manager for Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) has unveiled the new Lufthansa Lounge on his LinkedIn profile.

“Today, I had the pleasure to welcome guests to our newly renovated Lufthansa lounge at EWR. A project which started a long time ago, was halted by Covid, is finally finished in the new Allegris style. More seating, more comfort, a better food & beverage offering and an overall better look. At Lufthansa we say ‘yes’ to a premium lounge experience.”

Marc Suhr, Lufthansa Group station manager EWR

The lounge is located at Terminal B in the B3 Concourse near gates 60 to 68. The lounge is open daily from 2:15 to 9:30 p.m.

The lounge’s overhaul starts with the reception desk, featuring a clean look meant to correspond with the airline’s Allegris business class on flights.

That promise of better food and drink? It starts here at an expended buffet with a natural wood look.

“More seating” and “more comfort” will come into play in several areas. If you want high-top tables while eating, drinking, or working, earth tones are present in these tables and stools.

You’ve got other options, as well. You can find booth seating, tables and chairs in a cafeteria style, and armchairs in the corner.

The remodel also includes the lounge’s bar, including stools around the U-shaped setup that offers numerous liquors and beers on tap from Hofbräu München, Cape May Brewing Company, Jersey Juice IPA, and Abbey Dubbel.

If you’re looking to get some work done — whether alone or with a team — a conference table is available with multiple outlets built in.

And seating flows through the rest of the lounge, as well. Whatever you like, the lounge seems to have it: swivel chairs, armchairs, booths, and sofas.

There’s also a private space reserved for those flying in Lufthansa first class.

Final Thoughts

The lounge’s unveiling on LinkedIn came as a surprise, but it’s got a smooth new look and an upgraded experience to enjoy before your next flight out of Newark. If you’re flying out of EWR on Lufthansa or a Lufthansa Group airline, the new Allegris lounge is worth a visit.
