Is It Worth the Effort?

Honestly, the math here isn’t thrilling. At Upgraded Points, we currently value Miles & More miles at 1.3 cents each, which puts the full 3,000-mile bonus at about $39. Stacking 4 segments across 2 round-trips just to earn that bonus means a fair amount of flying for a relatively small return.

That said, Miles & More miles aren’t easy to rack up if you’re based in the U.S. There aren’t many U.S. credit cards that earn miles directly, and the list of transfer partners is short.

So if ITA Airways already fits your travel plans this spring or summer — such as a trip to Europe or a connection through Rome — registering is free and gives you a small bump, which is better than no bonus at all.
