Southwest Airlines just released a new promo for many of its credit cardholders to earn a 25% points bonus.

If you have been targeted, this new offer can be found in your Southwest account. However, these promos can be tricky to find, so many people probably don’t realize they exist. Here’s what you need to know to take advantage of this new Southwest credit card offer.

Southwest Credit Cardholders: Earn 25% Bonus Points

Select Southwest Rapid Reward cardholders can now earn 25% bonus points, up to 20,000 points, after spending $3,000 or more on purchases made between July 1 and September 30, 2025.

For example, if you spent $3,000 during the promotion period, you’d earn 750 bonus points. Based on our current valuations, 750 Southwest points are worth about $9.75. While that’s not a huge windfall, these points are in addition to any other points you’d earn, so there’s no downside to registering.

You’d need to spend $80,000 to earn the maximum of 20,000 bonus points for this promotion. That amount of points is worth about $260, but we don’t recommend putting $80,000 of spending on any Southwest credit card. There are plenty of better card options for big spenders.

To see if you were targeted and to register, log in to your account, click on My Account, and then scroll to the bottom of the page.

Here are some other details you should know:

  • Registration is required. As long as you register during the promotional period, all purchases made during that time will count, even if they were made before registration.
  • Bonus points count toward Southwest Companion Pass qualification.
  • Bonus points don’t count toward A-List or A-List Preferred elite status.
  • The offer is non-transferable.
  • Allow up to 8 weeks for the bonus points to appear in your account.
  • Purchases don’t include balance transfers, cash advances, traveler’s checks, foreign currency, money orders, wire transfers or similar cash-like transactions, lottery tickets, casino gaming chips, racetrack wagers or similar betting transactions, any checks that access your account, interest, unauthorized or fraudulent charges, or fees of any kind, including an annual fee.
Bottom Line:

From now until September 30, 2025, targeted Southwest credit cardholders can earn a 25% points bonus after spending at least $3,000. This could be a nice way to earn some extra Southwest points. Registration is required.
