If you enjoy staying in boutique hotels in off-the-beaten-path locations, this news is for you.

Hyatt has announced the opening of the NUMU Boutique Hotel — its latest Unbound Collection property — in the Mexican city of San Miguel de Allende.

“It’s truly a remarkable feeling to officially open our doors and introduce The Unbound Collection by Hyatt brand to San Miguel de Allende,” said Guillermo Valencia, general manager of NUMU Boutique Hotel. “We look forward to providing independent-minded guests an authentic, thought-provoking experience as they immerse themselves in the rich culture of this charming city that will inspire memories for years to come.”

Here’s what you can expect from a stay at NUMU.

Hyatt’s Newest Unbound Collection Property Opens In Mexico

Forget the pool and boat parties of Cancún, a stay at NUMU will have you soaking up authentic Mexican culture in the heart of the country.

The 44 guest rooms and suites were designed by a Mexican architecture firm called Artigas Arquitectos with a modern take on the spirit and culture of San Miguel de Allende.

Guests will also enjoy a private terrace or balcony in each of the rooms which boast views either over the city’s cobbled streets or into the hotel’s interior garden.

NUMU may be far from Mexico’s beaches, but their absence will not be felt here thanks to the hotel’s stunning rooftop pool.

If you’re looking to pay for your stay in cash, you can expect starting rates of about $300 for a base-level King Bed room. This property participates in the World of Hyatt program, meaning you can use points for stays as well. As a Category 6 property, award nights will cost 21,000 points on off-peak nights, 25,000 points on standard nights, and 29,000 points on peak nights.

How To Get to NUMU

The closest airport to San Miguel de Allende is Querétaro International (QRO) which is about a 90-minute drive from the hotel.

You can fly nonstop to Querétaro from Chicago (ORD) with Volaris, from Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) with American Airlines, and from Houston (IAH) with United Airlines.

Alternatively, it’s a 4-hour drive from Mexico City (MEX), which sees dozens of flights every day from cities across the U.S. and Canada.

Final Thoughts

Mexico offers so much more than just parties on the beach, and there’s no better place to see that first-hand than the city of San Miguel de Allende.

The opening of Hyatt’s new NUMU Boutique Hotel calls on travelers to explore a different side of Mexico.
