IHG is set to expand its luxury portfolio in the U.S. by introducing the prestigious Regent brand. The Regent Santa Monica Beach will open next month and will have the distinction of being the first Regent hotel in the U.S.

This much-awaited hotel will open its doors to guests on September 10, 2024. Best of all, you can redeem IHG One Rewards for stays at this elegant hotel — albeit at a hefty rate.

Here’s what you need to know.

Regent Santa Monica Beach — Details

The highly anticipated Regent brand will be making its U.S. debut next month in the vibrant beachside town of Santa Monica, California. The hotel will be open to guests starting September 10.

The Regent Santa Monica Beach will offer 143 guest rooms, including 24 suites, with the smallest rooms starting at a generous 720 square feet. Every room will include luxurious rainfall showers and elegant double vanities. The resort will also provide 2-story suites that offer stunning ocean views. Additionally, on the eighth floor, the Santa Monica Presidential Suite will feature a game room, a separate living room area, and 4 Juliet balconies.

The hotel boasts a prime location along the coastline, just a stone’s throw away from the iconic Santa Monica Pier. It offers a 10,000-square-foot spa and wellness center, 2 restaurants, including Orla, the hotel’s signature restaurant run by James Beard Award-winning chef Michael Mina, and other opulent amenities available to guests.

Currently, there are less than a dozen Regent Hotels in existence worldwide. This year will see the opening of the 11th Regent property, the Regent Jeddah, and the Regent Santa Monica Beach will contribute to the ultra-luxurious brand’s global hotel count of 12.

How To Book Regent Santa Monica Beach

It goes without saying that a stay at the Regent Santa Monica Beach, whether you pay with cash or points, will be very expensive. The lowest award redemption we could find from now to the end of the calendar was 161,000 IHG One Rewards points for The 720 City View King.

Nightly cash rates start at $1,100 per night. In celebration of the hotel’s widely anticipated opening, guests can save 24% on their reservation and receive a $240 credit for dining, spa, resort fees, or parking when booking through this link here.

Although the cash and points rates for a stay at the Regent Santa Monica Beach are on the expensive side, it’s relatively easy to earn IHG One Rewards points.

IHG’s credit cards — 2 personal and 1 business — are all issued by Chase. You can also transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards or Bilt Rewards points to IHG One Rewards at a 1:1 ratio.

Bottom Line:

The highly anticipated debut of the first Regent hotel in the U.S. is approaching. The Regent Santa Monica Beach will open for guests on September 10. The ultra-luxurious hotel can be booked by redeeming IHG One Rewards points, with nightly award rates starting at 161,000 points or cash rates beginning at $1,100.

Final Thoughts

With its grand opening scheduled for September 10, the Regent Santa Monica Beach will become the first property of its kind in the Americas. This exciting addition will further elevate IHG’s collection of luxurious hotels in the United States.
