Marriott has inked a deal for its third Ritz-Carlton hotel and first Marriott Marquis hotel in Beijing, China.

Here’s what to know about the 2 upcoming hotels.

Debut of Marriott Hotel Openings in Beijing

The Ritz-Carlton Beijing, North is expected to have 282 guest rooms and suites. Amenities include 6 dining outlets, an indoor swimming pool, a fitness center, more than 10,000 square feet of meeting space, and, of course, the famed Ritz-Carlton Spa.

Beijing Marriott Marquis Hotel — the brand’s debut in Beijing — will have 671 guest rooms and suites. Amenities at this hotel will include an all-day restaurant, plus a lobby bar and lounge. There are also plans for a pool, fitness center, and a whopping 35,000 square feet of meeting and event spaces.

The Ritz-Carlton Beijing, North and Beijing Marriott Marquis Hotel are expected to open for guests in 2026, though it’s unclear exactly when.

“Guided by the ‘Brand + Destination’ development strategy, the signing is a testimony of our continued growth in Greater China in key cities,” said Gavin Yu, Chief Development Officer, Greater China, Marriott International, in a statement. “We look forward to bringing a broad portfolio of our best brands and experiences to where travelers are desired to be.”

Bottom Line:

The hotels are part of the China National Convention Center Phase II project, which will add hotels, retail, and event space to the area. Both hotels will be within walking distance of museums and outdoor attractions and just 12 miles from Beijing Airport (PEK).

Booking Marriott Hotels in Beijing

The Ritz-Carlton Beijing, North and Beijing Marriott Marquis Hotel won’t open for another 2 years — but that doesn’t mean you can’t use Marriott Bonvoy points at other hotels in Beijing.

Marriott has more than 2 dozen hotels across Beijing. These include several 5-star hotels like the Renaissance Beijing Capital Hotel (starting at 27,000 points or $109 per night) or The St. Regis Beijing (32,000 points or $152 per night).

Asia, particularly China, is perhaps the best region to get the most out of your points due to low cash rates and discounted award nights.

Marriott Bonvoy points are some of the easiest-to-earn hotel points out there. That’s because you can transfer American Express Membership Rewards and Chase Ultimate Rewards points to Marriott at a 1:1 ratio. The 2 programs occasionally offer limited-time transfer bonuses, giving you more points for a free night.

You may also consider opening a co-branded Marriott Bonvoy credit card. All cards offer welcome bonuses (after completing minimum spending requirements) and some Marriott Bonvoy elite status tiers.

Final Thoughts

This is excellent news for Marriott Bonvoy loyalists who will soon have not 1, but 2 luxury hotel options in Beijing. While we don’t know much about the 2 hotels, we expect cash and award rates to be similar to Marriott’s other luxury properties in Beijing.

Until these hotels open in 2026, make sure to check out Marriott’s other hotels throughout Beijing for some incredible sweet spots!
