Robinhood, the online brokerage company, has announced a slate of new financial tools aimed at expanding its portfolio beyond stock trading, including a new Platinum credit card designed to reward cardholders for spending while integrating directly with their investment accounts.

The announcement came during the company’s “Take Flight” event on March 4, 2026, where Robinhood outlined a broader vision for managing family finances within its ecosystem. While several new products were revealed, the credit card is likely to attract the most attention from rewards enthusiasts.

Here’s what we know about the new Robinhood Platinum credit card — and whether it might make sense to add it to your wallet.

Robinhood’s New Platinum Credit Card

Robinhood’s newly announced Platinum credit card is designed to integrate tightly with the company’s investing platform. Instead of offering traditional airline miles or hotel points, the card focuses on cash rewards that can be directed toward investments.

Cardholders will earn cash-back rewards on everyday purchases, which can then be deposited directly into a Robinhood brokerage account. For investors who are already active on the platform, this effectively turns everyday spending into additional contributions toward their portfolios.

While further details are still emerging, Robinhood indicated that this is an invitation-only card. Invitations will likely go to Robinhood Gold subscribers, the platform’s premium membership tier that currently offers perks like higher interest on cash balances and advanced trading tools.

The Robinhood Platinum Card has a $695 annual fee and offers the following benefits:

  • 10% back on hotels and rental cars
  • 5% back on dining
  • 5% back on flights booked through the Robinhood Banking app
  • 1% back on other purchases
  • Complimentary Robinhood Gold membership
  • $250 DoorDash discount and complimentary DashPass membership
  • $250 annual credit on autonomous rides
  • $200 annual credit toward the purchase of health wearables
  • Complimentary memberships to Amazon One Medical, Function Health, Oura

The Platinum card appears to be part of a larger push by Robinhood to expand into all-in-one financial services. During the event, the company also highlighted additional tools aimed at helping families manage money together, including shared financial accounts and expanded wealth management features.

The company didn’t position the card specifically as a travel rewards product, but the broader concept — which focuses on turning spending into investment contributions — offers a different take on the rewards credit card model.

Hot Tip:

The launch of the Robinhood Platinum Card builds on the launch of the Robinhood Gold Card, which markets itself as a 3% cash-back card but isn’t truly a cash-back card.

Who Should Consider the Robinhood Platinum Card?

For frequent travelers focused on points and miles, the Robinhood Platinum card likely won’t replace established travel rewards cards like the Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card or the Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card, which offer transferable points and valuable travel protections.

However, the card could make sense for a different audience: investors who already use Robinhood as their primary brokerage platform.

If rewards can be deposited directly into an investment account, the card essentially allows users to automatically invest their credit card rewards. Over time, that could turn everyday spending into additional long-term investment growth.

This structure may appeal to users who prefer building wealth in the stock market rather than collecting airline miles or hotel points.

That said, travelers who value premium credit card perks like airport lounge access, travel protections, or points transfer partners will likely find more value in traditional travel credit cards.

Ultimately, the Robinhood Platinum card seems designed less as a travel rewards competitor and more as a tool for investors who want a simple way to funnel rewards into their portfolios.

Final Thoughts

Robinhood’s new Platinum credit card highlights the growing overlap between fintech platforms and traditional credit card rewards. By allowing users to funnel cash-back rewards directly into investments, the card offers a different approach compared to traditional travel or cash-back cards.

While frequent travelers will probably continue favoring established rewards cards, Robinhood users who already invest through the platform may find the idea of automatically investing their credit card rewards especially appealing. As more details emerge about the card’s earning rates and fees, it will become clearer whether this new entrant can compete with the broader rewards credit card market.
