Saudi Arabia, a country with huge plans to rebrand itself as a global tourist destination, is to welcome a third Rosewood property.
The Rosewood Hotels and Resort — one of the most prestigious luxury lifestyle brands in the world — will be a part of Saudi Arabia’s Amaala project on its northwest coast.
“We are deeply honored to partner with Red Sea Global on Rosewood Amaala and work together to offer a more regenerative model of hospitality for future generations,” said Sonia Cheng, chief executive officer at Rosewood Hotel Group.
Here’s what we know so far.
Saudi Arabia Significant Part of Rosewood’s Future Expansion Plans
Located on the shores of the Red Sea, Rosewood Amaala will be an important feature of the Saudi Arabian developer Red Sea Global’s Amaala destination, which is being created as a wellness haven in one of the largest regenerative tourism projects in the world.
“We are truly proud to reveal this partnership with Rosewood Hotels & Resorts — an iconic and world-renowned brand that shares our values in protecting people and planet, and belief in the potential of tourism as a force for good,” said John Pagano, Group CEO at Red Sea Global.
Guests staying at the Rosewood Amaala will be steps away from the fourth-largest reef in the world which, as a fundamental part of Rosewood’s A Sense of Place philosophy, the property promises not just to protect but also enhance.
Nestled inconspicuously in the nature of the resort will be the Asaya Spa where guests will be able to meditate, relax, rejuvenate, and indulge in treatments that focus on well-being.
The property will feature 110 guest rooms and suites as well as 25 Rosewood Residences.
As it stands, there’s no currently no confirmed opening date for Rosewood’s Amaala property, but the brand is keen to showcase this property early.
When the property is finally to welcome guests, it will join the yet-to-be-opened Rosewood Riyadh (scheduled to open in 2025) and the Rosewood Red Sea (opening date TBD) as the brand’s third property in Saudi Arabia.
Bottom Line: Along with several other planned openings, Rosewood Amaala will add to Rosewood’s portfolio of just 30 exclusive properties around the world. Here are some of our favorite Rosewood properties.
Final Thoughts
The combination of the luxury Rosewood Hotel lifestyle brand and the environment-focussed Red Sea Global development will be part of an exciting new chapter as Rosewood sets roots in Saudi Arabia for the first time.
