Need to book a Southwest flight? Make sure you enroll in this promotion first. Right now, you can earn 5,00 bonus Rapid Rewards points if you fly by the end of this month — April 30, 2025.

Let’s take a closer look at everything you need to know about this Southwest promotion.

Earn 5,000 Rapid Rewards Points on Flights

The latest promotion will give you 5,000 Rapid Rewards points on Southwest Airlines flights booked and flown by 11:59 p.m. CT on April 30, 2025. You must register for this promotion on Southwest’s website before you book your flights. To qualify, you must book a round-trip or 2 one-way flights.

Once enrolled, you need to book and fly (not just make a reservation) by April 30, 2025. If you complete a round-trip flight or 2 one-way flights by the deadline, you’ll earn 5,000 bonus points, which should post to your account within 4 weeks of your qualifying flights.

This promotion applies to all Southwest fare types, so you’ll earn:

  • Wanna Get Away: 2x points
  • Wanna Get Away Plus: 6x points
  • Anytime: 10x points
  • Business Select: 14x points

No matter how many trips you take, you can only earn the 5,000 bonus points once during this offer. It’s also worth noting that you will only earn bonus redeemable Rapid Rewards points, not extra tier points toward A-List elite status or Companion Pass qualifying points.

Existing Southwest bookings are not eligible for this promotion, nor are bookings made during the promotion period before registration for the offer. However, the airline doesn’t charge cancellation fees. Check previously booked Southwest flights and see if the price is the same (or lower) as when you booked it. If so, cancel and rebook your existing reservation to earn bonus points after you fly.

Hot Tip:

Earn even more points on your Southwest flights when you pay with a credit card that earns bonus rewards on airfare.

Final Thoughts

Southwest’s latest promotion will give you 5,000 bonus Rapid Rewards points when you enroll, book, and take your flights by April 30. Given our valuation of Rapid Rewards points at 1.3 cents each, 5,000 points are worth $65 — probably not enough to book a flight you weren’t planning on taking.

If you need to book upcoming Southwest flights, now’s the time. If you have existing Southwest bookings, cancel and rebook them after you enroll in the promotion if the price of your flight hasn’t increased.
