Update: The offer mentioned below has expired and is no longer available.

Usually sitting in the middle seat on a plane has no benefits. You’re cramped between 2 other passengers, have to fight over the armrest, and risk falling asleep on a stranger’s shoulder next to you. Subway is trying to reward passengers sitting in the middle seat with a free sandwich, but the sweepstakes is for 2 days only.

Free Sub Sweepstakes on National Sandwich Day

For 2 days only, November 3 and 4, 2022, you can visit SubwaysSandwichSeat.com and upload a photo of you sitting in a middle seat to be entered for a chance to win a $12 digital Subway gift card (enough for a free sandwich). Subway is giving out 10,000 of these gift cards, with over $120,000 in free sandwiches!

Here’s what you need to know about entering:

  • You can only enter once per email address, though the promotion doesn’t say anything specific about entering multiple times with multiple email addresses.
  • Your picture must be of you in a middle seat on a plane, and technically it should be taken either November 3 or 4, though it’s likely you can use an older picture without any issues.
  • Your picture needs to be in good taste without any obscene gestures, profanity, etc.
  • The time for entering the contest runs from 12:00 a.m. EST on November 3, 2022, to 11:59 p.m. EST on November 4, 2022. The website will only be active during that time.

Subway will draw the winners for the contest around November 5, 2022, and the chances to win depend on how many people enter the contest. If you’re lucky enough to win, you’ll be sent an email after the drawing, so be sure to check your spam folder to make sure your winning email doesn’t end up there.

Didn’t win? You can use the code FLBOGO in the Subway app to get a free footlong sub after ordering a footlong sub. While it’s not entirely free, it’s better than nothing! Make sure to use one of our recommended credit cards for restaurants and dining purchases to earn maximum points!

Hot Tip: Virgin Australia also wants to reward you for choosing the middle seat — learn more about the Middle Seat Lottery in our article.

Final Thoughts

Sitting in a middle seat usually never comes with any perks, but Subway is rewarding those who have to endure the middle seat experience with a chance to win a free sandwich! Be sure to enter your pictures during the promotion period as this contest is only open for a limited time.
