The super swanky Standard hotel chain has opened its first outpost in Singapore, and it’s one of the most affordable luxury hotels in the city.

Here’s what you need to know!

Standard Hotel Chain Expands in Southeast Asia

The Standard, Singapore has 143 guest rooms, ranging from single rooms to suites. All rooms feature rainfall showers, Nespresso coffee machines, and a minibar.

Known for its playful design, The Standard does a good job of blending its aesthetic with nods to Singaporean and Southeast Asian culture. The hotel’s main restaurant, Kaya at The Standard, serves up Japanese fare such as koji-marinated duck and chilled fish noodles. Amenities include a pool and pool bar, outdoor gardens, a cafe, and meeting spaces.

This is the first Standard hotel in Singapore, an island country and city-state in Southeast Asia.

The Standard brand has an impressive portfolio in Southeast Asia already, boasting several hotels across Thailand in Bangkok, Hua Hin, and Pattaya Na Jomtien. If you aren’t familiar, The Standard is a collection of trendy hotels in hot-spot destinations, like New York, London, and Miami.

Booking The Standard, Singapore

The Standard, Singapore, has officially opened for guests. Rates are reasonable throughout the first half of 2025, averaging around $200 per night. This is an exceptional value for a high-end hotel in Singapore.

The hotel is also offering a promotion to celebrate its opening. You can score 15% off, plus receive a welcome drink at Cafe Standard and 20% off dining and drinks when booking by December 30, 2024, for stays before June 30, 2025.

The Standard isn’t part of a major hotel yet (more on that below), but you can still earn points or miles when booking your room with one of the best hotel credit cards.

Bottom Line:

Earlier this year, World of Hyatt announced plans to acquire Standard International, the parent company of The Standard and Bunkhouse Hotels. Hyatt plans to launch a new lifestyle brand with the 2 brands at the forefront. More than 20 hotels will join World of Hyatt, including the newly opened Singapore property. It’s unclear when Standard International hotels will be fully integrated into the World of Hyatt program, but at least right now, these hotels can’t be booked with Hyatt points.

Final Thoughts

The Standard, Singapore, is a stunning hotel and a welcome addition to the island country. Singapore has no shortage of luxe hotels, but this hotel is notable for its affordability and central location.

Hopefully, this hotel will join World of Hyatt when the integration is completed, so guests will be able to earn and redeem points here!
