Turkish Airlines is already the world’s most globalized airline, with flights to over 100 countries, outpacing all other airlines in terms of worldwide reach.

The carrier’s chairman, Ahmet Bolat, expressed the airline’s further plans to expand its presence in the U.S. by increasing the number of destinations it currently serves from 14 to 18 and adding 4 new ones.

Here’s where Turkish Airlines’ new routes may take you in the future.

Growth Plans To Add 4 More U.S. Cities

Turkish Airlines has set its sights on Minneapolis (MSP), Charlotte (CLT), Philadelphia (PHL), and Orlando (MCO) as potential future U.S. destinations. This was revealed during a Travel Weekly interview with Mr. Bolat on June 11, 2024, in Denver, where the airline had just landed for the very first time.

The Star Alliance airline began serving the U.S. market in August 1988, with flights to New York (JFK) via Brussels (BRU). Today, the airline operates 14 U.S. routes, but operations have greatly grown since the pandemic, with plans for 4 new U.S. flights and increased frequencies to existing destinations.

“The number of destinations will go up to 20 in the U.S.,” Bolat said while in Denver. This implies that the airline has plans for potentially 2 more U.S. cities besides the 4 already mentioned, although those destinations were not made public.

Hot Tip:

Final Thoughts

Turkish Airlines continues to expand rapidly, with the U.S. market playing a significant role in the carrier’s expansion goals.

The airline’s chairman announced that it plans to fly to 20 destinations in the U.S., with Charlotte, Minneapolis, Orlando, and Philadelphia being the next 4 cities in the airline’s U.S. route network.

The airline has some of the best catering in the sky and an exceptionally remarkable business class product. Its expansion ambitions would be a welcome addition for U.S. travelers.
