2027 will go down in history for United.

The Chicago-based carrier has announced the addition of 13 routes, of which 10 are brand-new destinations for United. If that’s not exciting enough, United will be the only U.S. airline to fly to 8 of the destinations.

“Whether it’s a business trip, a dream honeymoon, a bucket-list adventure, or a trip home to see family, we’re making the world feel smaller and connecting cultures at a scale no other airline in the world can match,” said Patrick Quayle, senior vice president of global network planning and alliances at United.

Here’s everything we know so far.

United’s 10 New International Destinations for 2027

United‘s biggest-ever network expansion welcomes new routes to:

  • Catania (CTA), Italy
  • Ibiza (IBZ), Spain
  • Ljubljana (LJU), Slovenia
  • Luxembourg (LUX)
  • Marseille (MRS), France
  • Olbia (OLB), Italy
  • Okinawa (OKA), Japan
  • Terceira (TER), Portugal
  • Toulouse (TLS), France
  • Valencia (VLC), Spain

United is unlocking 8 completely unique new destinations for U.S. travelers, with Catania and Olbia as the only exceptions.

The majority of the new routes (8) will depart from United’s key hub at Newark (EWR), while San Francisco (SFO) and Washington Dulles (IAD) will each get a new destination.

As airlines strive to diversify their networks and offer unique routes, they are bringing lesser-known destinations, such as Okinawa in Japan, into reach. However, it’s thanks to new aircraft, like the Airbus A321XLR that United plans to debut in a media event on Tuesday at Newark, that United can launch routes to places like Luxembourg, Toulouse, and Valencia, where demand isn’t strong enough to fill a wide-body plane.

Interestingly, United will send a wide-body Boeing 767-400 to Ljubljana — the capital city of Slovenia.

Additional Routes From Denver, Los Angeles, and Washington, D.C.

United is also adding new routes to the popular destinations of Milan (MXP), Osaka (KIX), and Paris (CDG).
