Every kid dreams of having a treehouse they can spend hours in. Some even wish they had one they could live in.

But growing up doesn’t mean you have to give up your dreams of having a sleepover in the trees. In fact, all across the country, more and more treehouse hotels are starting to pop up so guests can live out their childhood fantasies.

From Arkansas to California, there are treehouse lodgings to suit every trip and virtually any budget.

1. Berlin Woods Treehouses, Millersburg, Ohio

Price: From $279

The Amish Country Lodging group has multiple accommodation options for guests, including the Berlin Woods Treehouses for those who want to live out their childhood dreams. Custom built to fit the ambience and geography of the woods, these treehouses feel like they’ve been in the forest for centuries.

With over 10 different lodgings to choose from, there’s something for virtually everyone. Smaller houses, like Treehouse #0, sleep 2 guests, while bigger ones can comfortably fit up to 6 adults. Combining rusticism and luxury, these treehouses are spacious, often spread across multiple levels, with full kitchens, bathrooms, and even a fireplace.

Big groups of up to 10 guests have to book 2 treehouses or stay in the 3-story A-frame. While it’s firmly on the ground, it still offers guests a gorgeous view of the woods.

2. The Grand Treehouse Resort, Eureka Springs, Arkansas

Price: From $212

Arkansas’ Grand Treehouse Resort is a one-of-a-kind getaway spot that’s been offering guests a chance to live out their treehouse dreams since 2008.

Currently, the resort has 6 different treehouse styles, ranging from the luxury Swiss Chalet to the secluded Sanctuary. Each treehouse is roomy, with a full bathroom, bedroom, and other modern amenities. You might even forget you’re in a treehouse entirely until you check out the view.

In addition to the suites themselves, the resort offers special packages for events like birthdays, anniversaries, or weddings. Be sure to book in advance if you want to reserve any rooms.

Hot Tip:

For safety reasons, children aren’t allowed in the treehouses, and each suite can only accommodate 2 adults. Pets are also not allowed on the property.

3. The Mohicans Treehouse Resort, Glenmont, Ohio

Price: From $300

You can find a variety of lodging at The Mohicans Treehouse Resort, including cabins, country homes, and, of course, treehouses. Since the resort’s treehouses are its most popular rooms, it has 10 different houses to choose from.

The Little Red Treehouse is the most quaint, with a half-bath bedroom loft for 2 people and an outdoor shower. Since it has fewer in-room amenities, it’s most popular in the warmer months.

Other houses, like El Castillo, are bigger and more luxurious, with inside bathrooms, larger sleeping areas, and capacity for more overnight guests.

Many of the treehouses at the Mohicans are pet-friendly, but make sure to check the rules of each specific room you book because some are pet-free. You can even book a treehouse wedding with enough advanced notice.

4. Out N About Treesort, Cave Junction, Oregon

Price: From $120

A self-proclaimed treehouse wonderland, Out N About Treesort is tucked away in one of the country’s oldest forests. So it’s not surprising that the resort has 18 different treehouses. All guests have access to firepits, a laundry facility, a kitchen, free Wi-Fi, and free parking, alongside other seasonal amenities like a pool in the summer.

Each treehouse also has its own specifications. For example, the Majestree, the tallest treehouse on the property, is only for adults. The Swiss Family Complex, on the other hand, is perfect for families since it consists of 2 treehouses connected by a bridge.

To make your stay as fun and exciting as possible, Out N About also offers a variety of activities for visitors. Horseback riding, zip-lining, and swimming are just a few of the things people can do on the property, weather permitting.

Like the rest of the Post Ranch Inn’s rooms, the treehouse offers several packages to suit guests’ needs, such as the Romance at the Ranch package or the Ocean Escape.

Staying at the treehouse also lets guests access the spa, wellness center, and restaurants so they can have the full Post Ranch experience. Since there’s only 1 treehouse at the inn, be sure to book your stay in advance to ensure it’s available for your trip. This treehouse is designed for just 2 people.

Hot Tip:

Post Ranch Inn is affiliated with Mr & Mrs Smith, Visa Signature Luxury Hotel Collection, Amex Fine Hotels + Resorts, and Preferred Hotels & Resorts.

Near the Cheoah River, North Carolina’s River’s Edge Treehouse Resort offers a hotel experience that mixes nature and luxury.

Currently, the resort has 6 treehouses. White Pine is the most popular for guests who want seclusion, while Persimmon is the most accessible for guests with mobility concerns.

All treehouses are equipped with a microwave, minifridge, coffee maker, and grill, so you can have a glamping experience up in the trees. The free Wi-Fi and television ensure the comforts of modern luxury.

All treehouses are pet-friendly, but you’ll be charged a $65 fee for a single dog and a $90 fee for 2 at booking. Treehouse guests also have access to common areas for activities like horseshoes, cornhole, hiking, and fishing.

Hot Tip:

Keep in mind that the hotel is open seasonally and generally closes for winter.

7. Snow Bear Chalets, Whitefish, Montana

Price: From $699

Over the years, Snow Bear Chalets has earned fame for its treehouses. In fact, it’s the world’s first ski-in, ski-out treehouse resort.

Today, Snow Bear has 3 treehouses. Ponderosa is the most popular, comfortably sleeping 6 people and having 2 bedrooms, 2 baths, and 2 stories. It’s also the treehouse closest to the slopes. Since it’s so popular, it has a 3-night minimum stay.

Cedar is the resort’s largest treehouse, so it’s best for people traveling in large groups or who just want a lot of room when they settle in at night. The Tamarack is the best of both worlds, combining the size and amenities of the Ponderosa with the increased peace that comes from being a little farther away from the slopes.

Snow Bear Chalets’ treehouses are open all year, but winter is the hotel’s busiest season.

8. TreeHouse Point, Issaquah, Washington

With 7 treehouses on the property, TreeHouse Point offers guests a unique way to rest and relax while surrounded by nature. All treehouses have a 2-night stay minimum and require guests be at least 16 years old.

The Temple of the Blue Moon house is the most historic on the property, as it was the point’s first treehouse. Though it’s small and quaint, it still has luxuries like a private balcony and indoor bathroom.

Upper Pond is the largest house and is able to comfortably sleep 4 adults, while The Nest is the resort’s so-called “cozy house” for its small size and location tucked away in the forest.

Events like weddings can also be held at TreeHouse Point with enough notice. Wedding packages can accommodate up to 80 guests on the property.

9. Treehouse Utopia, Utopia, Texas

Price: From $475

“Renew, refresh, and relax” is the motto at Treehouse Utopia, thanks to its 4 luxury treehouse chalets. Each treehouse is uniquely decorated and designed to curate a different experience for guests. For example, bookish visitors love the Biblioteque’s library theme, while the Chateau has a more nature-meets-luxury ambience.

While the decor of each treehouse can vary, all 4 have some things in common. They’re meant to accommodate 2 people, and all guests must be at least 18, so they’re not the best choice for families. None of the treehouses are pet-friendly, though service animals are allowed with proper documentation.

In order to help guests get in touch with nature, none of the treehouses have a television, but free Wi-Fi is included in your stay. While you’ll feel tucked away, Treehouse Utopia is a short distance from town, so you won’t get bored.

10. Winvian Farm, Morris, Connecticut

Winvian Farm has no shortage of accommodations. While most guests stay in one of the cottages, its treehouse has gained popularity for its luxury and uniqueness. Fitting up to 4 people, it’s great for couples, friends, or families looking for a place to relax and unwind on their vacation.

It has 2 stories, so there’s plenty of space for amenities like a bathtub, private balcony, and fireplace. It even has free Wi-Fi and heated floors to make your stay even more luxurious.

Though the treehouse is farther removed than the other cottages at Winvian, guests still have access to the resort’s amenities, like its spa, wellness center, and restaurants.
