Another week means another new route network announcement from Virgin Atlantic.

The U.K.-based airline is adding 2 exciting new destinations to its route network from London Heathrow (LHR): Bengaluru (BLR) in India and São Paulo (GRU) in Brazil.

The news comes just days after we learned of more new services, including Las Vegas (LAS) to Manchester (MAN) in the U.K.

“From our entrance into South America, to our expansion in India and the growth of our premium sun portfolio, there is something for all of our customers to experience,” said Shai Weiss, CEO at Virgin Atlantic.

Both services are slated to take wing for the first time in 2024.

Let’s take a look at the details.

Connect From the U.S. Via Heathrow to Bengaluru, India

The first of the new routes to launch will be on March 31, 2024, from London Heathrow to Bengaluru — the capital of India’s state of Karnataka and a bustling hub for the tech industry.

Bengaluru will join New Delhi (DEL) and Mumbai (BOM) as the airline’s third Indian city with nonstop service from the U.K.

Thank to Virgin’s expansive U.S. route network, travelers from 12 cities across the U.S. will now have a new 1-stop option to consider when traveling to Bengaluru once the route starts next year.

As it stands, the only way to fly nonstop from the U.S. to Bengaluru is flying from San Francisco (SFO) with Air India and United.

Tickets for Virgin’s new year-round route as well as details about flight schedules will be available from June 14, 2023.

Bottom Line:

You can fly nonstop with Virgin Atlantic to London from Atlanta (ATL), Austin (AUS), Boston (BOS), Las Vegas (LAS), Los Angeles (LAS), Miami (MIA), New York (JFK), Orlando (MCO), San Francisco (SFO), Seattle (SEA), Tampa (TPA), and Washington-Dulles (IAD).

Virgin Sambas Its Way to São Paulo

São Paulo — the most populous city in the Southern Hemisphere — will also welcome nonstop Virgin service in 2024.

From May 13, 2024, the airline will operate a daily, year-round service. This will be the airline’s first-ever service to the continent of South America.
