Virgin Atlantic’s Points Booster is a promotion worth writing home about.
In a nutshell, Virgin is very generously offering a stack of bonus points for flights you’ve taken or are about to take.
Let’s take a look at how the promotion works and what it could mean for you.
Claim Your Bonus Virgin Points Now
How does it work? The math is pretty simple.
For each Virgin Atlantic flight you’ve taken in the last 6 months, or any future Virgin booking, you can buy Points Booster to purchase either 100%, 200%, 0r 300% of your base miles for 1 penny (1.2 cents) through June 30, 2022.
On top of that, you’ll get an additional bonus depending on the number of additional miles you buy. Buying 100% of your base miles gets a 20% bonus, 200% gets you 30%, and 300% gets you the maximum of 40% bonus.

A flight from New York (JFK) to London (LHR) will earn you 6,916 base miles. If you decided to max out on the promotion and buy 300% of your base miles, you’d be awarded 20,748 points plus the 40% bonus of 8,299 points. That’s a whopping 29,047 Virgin Points for $249.
As per our current points and miles valuations, 29,047 Virgin Points are worth $406 — that’s a possible saving of $157 by buying Virgin Points through the promotion.
We wouldn’t recommend booking a flight with Virgin just to get access to this promotion as there are many other ways out there for you to earn Virgin Points without having to spend lots of money for the privilege.
Should I Purchase Bonus Virgin Points?
Virgin flies direct from the U.S. to the U.K. from 11 U.S. cities to London Heathrow, as well as regularly scheduled services from Atlanta (ATL), New York (JFK), and Orlando (MCO) to Manchester (MAN), so you’ll be able to put your bonus Points to good use.
However, there are a ton of other ways to get even more value out of your Virgin Points as they can also be redeemed on other airlines.
Bottom Line: If you’ve taken a Virgin flight in the last 6 months or have one booked for the near future, then making the most of this promotion could be worth your while — especially if there’s a trip or a redemption you don’t currently have enough Virgin Points for.
Final Thoughts
The math regarding this particular points and miles bonus promotion is simple, making it pretty clear that Virgin’s promotion can provide a lot of value for the right person.
If only we’d taken a Virgin Atlantic flight recently…
