Guests with a trip booked at one of Hyatt’s all-inclusive properties in Cancun should pay attention, as 2 of them are leaving the World of Hyatt program in 2026.

Within just weeks of each other, Hyatt Vivid Grand Island and Breathless Cancun Soul Resort are both exiting the Inclusive Collection, which means no points, no elite benefits, and no status credit for stays after their respective cutoff dates.

Here’s a breakdown of what’s happening and what you should do if you’re affected.

Which Hotels Are Leaving, and What They’re Becoming

Hyatt Vivid Grand Island will exit World of Hyatt on August 19, 2026. The property is rebranding as Mondrian Cancun, marking the first all-inclusive property under Accor‘s Mondrian brand. Mondrian sits in the premium/lifestyle tier — think W Hotels or Andaz — and is known for design-forward properties in trendy destinations like Ibiza and South Beach. The new Mondrian Cancun will be family-friendly, though don’t expect a resort built around kids. There are limited children’s amenities, and the beach club will be off-site. Guests will be able to earn and redeem ALL – Accor Live Limitless Reward points when the property transitions.

Breathless Cancun Soul Resort follows shortly after, exiting World of Hyatt on September 30, 2026. The adults-only property is transitioning to Amàre Cancun, Curio Collection by Hilton — staying all-inclusive and adults-only, but now earning Hilton Honors points instead of World of Hyatt points.

What Happens to Your Existing Reservation?

The short answer: Your reservation will be honored, but your Hyatt elite perks won’t transfer.

For Hyatt Vivid Grand Island, the ownership group has confirmed that existing reservation terms will be honored after the August 19 transition. Hyatt’s own page for the property states that guests may receive additional communication from the new operator as the date approaches. If you have questions about stays before August 19, you can reach the Inclusive Collection Call Center at 855-652-7328.

For Breathless Cancun Soul Resort, Hyatt’s official statement confirms the same: Existing paid reservations will be honored, and guests with stays on or after September 30 will receive direct communication from the resort’s new operator.

Here’s what you won’t get at either property after the transition dates: World of Hyatt points, elite-qualifying nights, or any status-related benefits, such as upgrades or late checkout. If you booked with points, the general expectation is that the stay will still be honored, but you should confirm directly with Hyatt before the transition occurs.

Bottom Line:

If you’re booked and happy with the property itself, you don’t need to cancel. But if you booked specifically for the points or status credit, it may be worth evaluating alternatives within World of Hyatt.

How This Impacts These Brands in World of Hyatt

Losing Cancun properties hurts both of these brands’ footprints in the program.

Breathless currently has 4 properties in World of Hyatt: Punta Cana (Category B) in the Dominican Republic, Los Cabos (Category D) and Cancun (Category C) in Mexico, and Montego Bay (Category E) in Jamaica. Once the Cancun property exits, that portfolio shrinks to 3 — and the brand loses one of its most high-profile locations.

Hyatt Vivid is in an even tighter spot. The brand only has 3 properties in World of Hyatt: Cancun (Category B), Punta Cana (Category C), and Playa del Carmen (Category C) in Mexico. Losing Cancun — the brand’s flagship and the property that launched the entire Hyatt Vivid concept in 2024 — leaves it with just 2 remaining options for points travelers.

Final Thoughts

Two major all-inclusive departures in the Cancun Hotel Zone within weeks of each other is a notable shake-up for World of Hyatt loyalists. If you’re an existing guest, your stay is safe, but your points and benefits are not.

Check your upcoming reservations now, confirm the details directly with each property or with Hyatt’s call center, and decide whether to keep the booking or redirect those nights to properties still firmly in the World of Hyatt ecosystem.
