Hi, I wondered if, like other airline rewards programs, miles could be transferred to other members not in the Family Plan? Also, are nieces and nephews considered acceptable as Family Plan members? Thx in advance!

Thanks for your question! Sharing miles is a good thing but every airline rewards program has their own set of rules. According to the SkyPass Family Plan terms and conditions, miles can only be transferred to qualifying family members which are defined as “spouse, children, parents, siblings, parents-in-law, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, grandparents and grandchildren.” Although nieces and nephews are not listed, it is always possible to attempt the transfer and see if it is approved and processed by SkyPass.

I see that the only transfer partner for Korean Air is Marriott now. Is the 3:1 transfer ratio a good value to earn Korean air miles?

Korean Air miles are best for Korean Air flights. This is because you have unbelievable access to Korean Air award availability. Availability in partners like Delta and Alaska are horrible for booking Korean Air.
Just be mindful of the new transfer times, which can take up to 6 weeks, according to reports from the new “Marriott” integration.

Hi. Does KAL prorate tickets? Can I use partial miles and cash for a ticket purchase?

Hi Steve,
Unfortunately, Korean Air does not allow miles and cash purchases. You must use one or the other.
Thanks for reading!

Hi Shantha,
Yes, but this is only allowed on Korean Air flights. Find out more at this link.

I only have around 11, 000 Sky Pass miles in my account.
I understand Marriott points can be transferred to SKYPASS miles, but not the other way around.
I might not fly Korean Air anymore. I live in Canada.
Mind you know if I able to transfer my Sky Pass miles to their partner (i.e. American Airlines / Delta), or redeem as a gift card(s)?
Thank you for your time.

Is the 2,000 transfer bonus option no longer available? I only see 60,000 Marriott points to 20,000 Skypass miles when I try to transfer.

Hi Henry,
You should receive 25,000 Korean miles when transferring 60,000 Marriott points. 20,000 for the 3:1 transfer rate, plus the 5,000 airline bonus. Is that not what you’re seeing?

Can Flying Blue/KLM miles be transferred to Skypass/Korean Air? If yes, is it 1:1 and is there no fee?
Thanks, having difficulty in finding the answer to the above.

My husband passed away with 72,000 Korean Skypass miles. Can it be transferred to me?
Jarrod West
April 23, 2021
Hi Ivy,
I’m very sorry for your loss. If you contact the Korean Skypass customer service team they should be able to assist you in getting these miles transferred to your Skypass account.

Hi Myrasol,
You can, but you would need to book through Korean Air in order to do so.

If you have Korean Air Skypass miles, it is now almost impossible to book anything other than economy seats. I just tried to book a from two hubs and there was nothing in the next six months for business or first class. Very disappointing and I won’t be doing anything to add Skypass points going further. This is a new and terrible change to their Skypass program.
