Chattanooga can be found in southeastern Tennessee, bordering the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. This city along the Tennessee River is one of the top areas to visit in the country, thanks to its amazing outdoor adventures and mountain views.

After all the excitement of an adventurous day in and around Chattanooga, there are several boutique hotels to accommodate tired travelers.

Price: From $109

Staying at The Chattanooga Choo Choo Hotel in Chattanooga is a deeply authentic and unique experience. It was first built in 1908 as part of the Chattanooga Terminal Station, the first railway station in the Southern states.

The railway station is now no longer in use, but the Chattanooga Choo Choo Hotel was named on the National Register of Historic Places and has been one of Chattanooga’s most impressive preservation projects.

The Beaux-Arts accents are a huge part of the hotel’s charm, but there are many comforts to be found at the Choo Choo. Each room has a minifridge, work desk, and TV. The suites add more space and a sofa to accommodate extra guests.

The on-site Frothy Monkey offers 3 locally-sourced meals a day. The eatery focuses on high-quality ingredients and providing excellent food to the community.

The Mayor’s Library is perfect for lounging with a book, while the Fort Wood Ballroom is a great location for events. Each room and suite at the inn has a private bath, as well as ultra-soft spa robes and a cable TV.

Price: From $152

The Read House offers a splendid step back in time to the dazzling 1920s. Over 150 years old, this boutique experience is one of the most spell-binding accommodation options in Chattanooga. While every space is full of modern functionality, the vintage-style details are the most captivating.

There are drama-filled chandeliers, tall ceilings, checkered floors, and wood-clad walls. There are 2 categories of guest rooms: the tower rooms, which are more timelessly elegant, and the manor rooms, which are more modern.

The Penthouse is the most spacious and opulent option available to guests, featuring a pied-à-terre with a huge master suite, fully-stocked wet bar, and sumptuous accents at every turn. In addition, the hotel includes an indoor pool and fitness center with cutting-edge equipment.

There are several dining options and a Starbucks café on-site.

RiverView Inn

While the RiverView Inn is only minutes away from downtown Chattanooga, it has some of the most stunning views in town. The RiverView can be found on the side of Lookout Mountain.

Guests can enjoy panoramic views and quick access to some of the most scenic hikes around the mountain. Unwinding at the RiverView is easy with the many amenities on offer. A hot breakfast partly catered by Grandview is served daily.

There is a lovely fire pit where guests can relax in the evenings or roast some s’mores with kits purchased from the gift shop. There is an on-site heated saltwater pool, and Wi-Fi access is provided across the property.

The SkyBox Clubhouse is available to guests until 10 p.m. There are plenty of board games on offer, but it is also a great place to enjoy a meal or some conversation.

Each room features unique design accents and includes a minifridge, microwave, Keurig coffee maker, TV, and king or queen bed. Unlimited coffee is also available for guests.

Final Thoughts

While in Chattanooga, visitors should explore the river and tour the historic city. Whiskey tastings and the Chattanooga Zoo are also popular stops. It may be easy to disregard Chattanooga in favor of bigger cities, but it is an unmissable gem.
