H10 Hotels is a collection of hotels and resorts in destinations such as Spain, Portugal, Mexico, and beyond. A small hotel group with fewer than 100 properties, H10 specializes in seafront, all-inclusive resorts and boutique urban properties throughout its H10 Hotels, H10 Horizons Collections, Ocean By H10 Hotels, and The One By H10 Hotels.

I’ve stayed at several H10 properties and have several others on my list. These H10 hotels are some of the best, whether you’re in the market for a Madrid city break or an adults-only Jamaican getaway.

The 5 Best City H10 Hotels

Some of the chicest H10 hotels are boutique properties in urban locations, featuring trendy rooftops and sophisticated pools.

1. H10 Chrome Málaga, Spain

H10 Chrome Malaga

Set in the heart of Malaga’s historic center, this new-ish hotel that opened in 2022 is known for having one of the hottest rooftop bars in town, with a sleek rooftop plunge pool that overlooks the city and sea with almost 360° views. The H10 Chrome Málaga‘s chic guest rooms feature Rituals bath amenities and colorful modern artwork, complete with Andalusian tiled terraces that offer nearly the same memorable views as its rooftop — Málaga’s urban and ocean sprawl. In higher room categories, balconies have views of the historic Málaga Cathedral and the sea.

Room rates start around $280 per night.

Hot Tip:

Remember to join Club H10, the loyalty program for H10, before booking — members get a 5% discount on bookings. Read our guide to the Club H10 program and decide whether it’s worth joining.

2. H10 Puerta de Alcalá, Madrid, Spain

Situated overlooking the gorgeous Puerta de Alcalá monument in Madrid’s upscale Salamanca neighborhood, the H10 Puerta de Alcalá is next to the most famous park in Madrid, the Retiro. Guest rooms are small but comfortable, with rainfall showers and queen-size beds. But the real highlight of this property is the El Cielo de Alcalá rooftop, a trendy, sunny space that overlooks the Retiro Park’s foliage and city beyond, complete with a tiny plunge pool.

Room rates start at $300 per night.

3. H10 Cubik, Barcelona, Spain

Barcelona is home to 15 H10 properties (the brand got its start in Catalonia), but the H10 Cubik stands out for its Atik Terrace, a rooftop bar and pool with views of Barcelona’s Gothic Cathedral (not to be confused with the famed Sagrada Familia, due for completion in 2026).

The hotel is aptly named for its cube-like structure reminiscent of Spanish artists like Pablo Picasso, who dabbled in cubism, where rooms appear to be brightly lit boxes stacked on top of one another. Some guest rooms include views of Via Laietana and the city’s Gothic Quarter, as well as bathrobes, slippers, and Rituals bath amenities.

Room rates start at $260 per night.

4. H10 Palazzo Canova, Venice, Italy

No shortage of Venice hotels overlook the famed Grand Canal, but many will run you hundreds of dollars, even thousands, per night. The H10 Palazzo Canova gives you a luxurious, canal-side stay without breaking the bank. Guest rooms are regal, with velvet-topped furniture and heavy drapes covering large windows.

It’s worth upgrading from the lowest room category, a deluxe room, to the next one, a deluxe room with a partial (side) canal view to admire the gondolas and all the action on the canal. Even if you choose the lowest room category, you can get those canal views at the La Terrazza Bar, which overlooks the canal and the Rialto Bridge.

Room rates start at $280 per night; if you want that coveted canal view, expect to pay at least $380 per night. Even though these rates can rise a few hundred euros in high season, the hotel is still significantly more affordable than some of its neighboring properties.

5. The One Palácio da Anunciada, Lisbon, Portugal

A short stroll from Lisbon’s central Rossio Square is The One Palácio da Anunciada. Formerly a 16th-century palace, the hotel still retains much of its grandeur. Most hotels in the city center have limited space, but this property has 2,500 square meters of perfectly landscaped gardens, including a century-old dragon tree and an outdoor swimming pool.

Staying in the hotel’s most affordable rooms still feels special: The “cosy secret rooms” overlook the palace’s serene courtyards. The hotel also has an indoor plunge pool, spa, and fitness center.

Room rates start at $390.

Hot Tip:

H10 Hotels does not have co-branded credit cards, so pay for your stay with a credit card that offers bonus points on travel purchases. Our top picks are the Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card, which earns 2x points on travel, or the Chase Sapphire Reserve®, which earns 4x points on flights and hotels booked directly.

The 6 Best Beachfront H10 Hotels

Many H10 properties are located near the sea. Most of the brand’s hotels are in Mediterranean cities like Barcelona or island hubs in Europe or the Caribbean, like Spain’s Canary Islands or the Dominican Republic. The lowest category rooms have balconies, and upgraded rooms have sea views or extra family space.

You can also pay for Privilege, which comes with upgraded rooms, a private lounge, a special beachfront infinity pool, and a hot tub, among other discounts and perks. Entertainment includes outdoor shows, fitness classes, kids programming, and cooking or cocktail workshops.

With 5 restaurants, 4 bars, a kids club, and a few pools, the hotel is an easy choice for a beach vacation, with plenty to do on the resort and lots to see nearby if you want to explore the dunes, golf courses, cycling routes, the LGBTQ+ scene in Maspalomas, or the charming town of Puerto Mógan.

The infinity, sea-facing pool is one of the best hangout spots at the hotel, and the spacious lobby, with high ceilings and comfortable seating, is a nice place to relax, have a drink, and plan your day.

Bed and breakfast rates start at $200, while all-inclusive rates start at $327 (based on double occupancy).

You can float along the hotel’s lazy river and sleep in swim-up suites, family rooms, or rooftop suites with outdoor hot tubs. There’s also a teen club and kids club on the premises.

All-inclusive rates start at $260 (based on double occupancy).

While many H10 hotels have special areas dedicated to adults, this hotel is fully adults only, ideal for couples who want to relax, groups of friends who want to spend time together, or honeymooners.

Guests have access to all the services at Eden Bay — 1 massive swimming pool, 5 restaurants, 4 bars, and a beach area, but they can also head over to the nearby, all-ages Ocean Coral Spring, a family-friendly resort, to use amenities like the bowling alley, game room, and lazy river. Junior suites have balconies overlooking the gardens or pools. You can upgrade to suites with sea views or swim-up suites.

All-inclusive rates start at $645 for a junior suite for 2 adults.

6. H10 Playa Poniente, Benidorm, Spain

The newish (opened in 2020) H10 Porto Poniente is set overlooking the golden sands of the Mediterranean along Spain’s Costa Blanca. Its amenities are spread over a dizzying array of floors. The fifth floor is for families, with a sun terrace, kiddie pool, and rooftop bar. If you’re looking for kid-free relaxation, you’ll prefer the seventh floor’s adults-only plunge pool with sea views. Or, opt for the eighth-floor sun terrace or the indoor pool and spa area.

Guest rooms and suites are sea-inspired, with blue and white Spanish tiles and beachy art. It’s worth opting for a room with a sea-view terrace, as you’ll feel exceptionally close to the ocean’s waves.

Rates start at $240 per night.
