Dreams Sapphire Resort & Spa is a family-friendly, all-inclusive resort in Mexico. It’s part of Hyatt’s Inclusive Collection and can be booked with World of Hyatt points. Club & Villas is one of the resort’s top-tier room categories, and you might be wondering whether the upgrade is worth the extra cost.

The first thing you should know is that Club & Villas is the newer area of the resort. Renovations to this section, formerly called Indigo, were completed in November 2025. I spent 3 nights in a Club & Villas room in March 2026 to check out the renovations and to see if it’s worth the hype.

Let’s look at the main benefits of booking a Club & Villas room at Dreams Sapphire, and I’ll share the thing I was most disappointed in.

Dreams Sapphire Resort & Spa Overview

Dreams Sapphire Resort & Spa is a family-friendly all-inclusive resort in Hyatt’s Inclusive Collection. Located in Puerto Morelos, Mexico, this resort is just a 20 to 25-minute drive south of Cancun International Airport (CUN).

Since Dreams Sapphire is part of World of Hyatt, you can use Hyatt points to book your room. At the time of writing, this is a Category B resort (on the Hyatt all-inclusive resort award chart) that costs 17,000-23,000 points per night for 2 people in a base-level room (additional guests and suites cost extra). In May 2026, Hyatt is expanding the award charts, and Category B all-inclusive resorts, like Dreams Sapphire, will cost between 15,000 and 35,000 points per night.

What Is Club & Villas at Dreams Sapphire?

Club & Villas is a room category at Dreams Sapphire. It was introduced in November 2025 after renovations and includes oceanfront rooms and 2-story villas. All guests staying in a Club & Villas room have access to a rooftop pool and sushi restaurant, plus all Preferred Club benefits, including lounge access, an adults-only Preferred Club pool, and an oceanfront restaurant.

Oceanfront Location

One of the biggest perks of being in a Club & Villas room is the prime oceanfront location. The resort’s beach is relatively small, so these oceanfront rooms are very close to the water, which I loved.

Plus, each room has a spacious balcony, perfect for watching the sunrise with a cup of coffee or having a cocktail in the evening.

My room was huge — my husband and I had more space than we needed. There was a big bedroom with a soaking tub and a separate steam shower. The large balcony off the bedroom also had a tub.

The living room had a sitting area, dining table, kitchenette, a half bath, and a second large balcony.

Hot Tip:

While Club & Villas rooms are all oceanfront, the Club & Villas 2-story villas are not. Each 1,200 square-foot space has a private pool and a furnished terrace with garden views.

Access to the “Hidden” Preferred Club Pool

Both Club & Villas and Preferred Club guests have access to an adults-only pool that’s tucked away amongst the foliage of the resort — if you didn’t know it was there, it would be easy to miss. This pool was much calmer, quieter, and less crowded than the main pool, and it offered a fantastic perk — complimentary Bali beds.

We arrived on a Sunday morning and were able to grab a Bali bed that day, but usually you’ll need to make reservations the morning before you plan to be at the pool. During the week, they fill up fast. There were also Bali beds available to rent for $50 per day. That’s a great price, but I preferred the location of the complimentary ones.

Families with kids staying in a Club & Villas room have access to the resort’s main pool as well as the waterslides.

Access to the Rooftop Pool and Restaurant

Another fantastic perk of being in a Club & Villas room was access to the rooftop pool and sushi restaurant, Gohan.

The rooftop pool also offered complimentary Bali beds, but these didn’t require reservations. This adults-only pool had a completely different vibe than the other 2 pools at the resort. It was sleek and contemporary, perfect for lounging with a cocktail and a book; it felt miles away from the rest of the resort.

After lounging for a couple of hours, we grabbed a table at Gohan for lunch. I really appreciated having a sit-down lunch just steps from the pool. We enjoyed some vegetarian sushi and tacos while the ocean breeze blew.

Access to Oceanfront Restaurant

We ate breakfast at Blue Water Grill each morning, which was open to Club & Villas and Preferred Club guests. With ocean breezes, this was a great spot to start each day. I particularly liked the Mexican breakfast options; chilaquiles are my breakfast of choice when I’m in Mexico, and these were delicious.

Hot Tip:

Club & Villas guests get exclusive access to another restaurant, Seaside Grill. However, it was closed during my stay, and the reopening date is unknown.

Preferred Club Lounge

Across almost every Dreams Resorts location, you’ll find a Preferred Club lounge. This lounge usually offers top-shelf liquor, snacks throughout the day, and dedicated concierge services. I’ve previously been to 2 Dreams locations, Dreams Estrella del Mar Mazatlán Golf & Spa Resort and Dreams Bahia Mita Surf & Spa Resort, and both of those locations had beautiful, bright lounges with excellent food options and outdoor seating.

The Preferred Club lounge at Dreams Sapphire was dark and uninviting, with a mediocre buffet. It was disappointing compared to my experiences at the other 2 Dreams Resorts I’ve been to. I’d recommend skipping the lounge and choosing the resort’s other restaurants and bars instead.

Final Thoughts

Overall, I thought the Club & Villas rooms at Dreams Sapphire were worth it. The oceanfront location of my room was top-notch, and I really appreciated access to the rooftop pool, rooftop sushi restaurant, and “hidden” Preferred Club pool. Plus, being able to visit Blue Water Grill for breakfast each morning was a bonus. If you’re planning a trip to Dreams Sapphire Resort and want an oceanfront room with access to less crowded pools, a Club & Villas room is the way to go.
